Advice regarding notice period

I called My Trainer and told her this morning that I won't be able to continue the internship. She got mad at me and then told me interns have to serve a 7 day notice period. I asked her if she can tell me where it is mentioned since I wasn't informed about this during the orientation and i haven't got an offer letter yet ( it's been one month since I joined) . the only thing i signed was the code of conduct and i don't remember the notice period being mentioned there . She told me to come to the office tomorrow and she will show me where it is mentioned. I am really worried about how to handle the situation and i don't want to work there Even a day more. Need advice on how to handle this conversation.

For extra context- I joined with another intern and he resigned last week on Thursday/Friday and my trainer thinks that we planned to resign together ( we didn't) since the leaves we took during the last month were On the same day . And he's serving his notice period.

Need advice on how to handle the talk tomorrow I am worried that my trainer will be rude to me or try to force me to serve the notice period. I also need to return the company laptop and things so I can't Just ghost them .

Need advice on Best way to resign from internship

So i got an internship last month in July and it was supposed to be a six month internship but within a month i have come to the realisation that i hate the work, it mentally drains me and i dread going to the office each day and doing the job. So i have decided to leave my internship , and i want to resign on Monday morning but I am not sure what is the best way to resign....

Should I call my trainer first in the morning let her know I am resigning then send the email to the hr and then later go to the office to return the company laptop or should I go to the office on Monday and talk to her face to face and resign. I want to take the option that will cause me less stress and i want to avoid working on Monday if I can , I just want to return the company laptop and come back Home.

Also is it mandatory to serve the notice period like will there be consequences if i refuse to serve it . please help me and advise on the best way to leave this internship
