Torsion

In March 2025 I had a full hysto but kept both ovaries. At the time my ovaries looked great, no concerns. About three weeks ago though I started having pretty bad abdominal pain on my left side so I went to the ER, and it turned out my left ovary (which is the one it's less likely to happen to) torsed and died so I had to get that one removed. The right still looked perfect.

Fast forward three weeks to yesterday, and I start feeling the exact same pain again, but on my right side. I show up the ER, and turns out my right ovary also torsed. They were able to save that ovary luckily, but it was too swollen to do an oophoropexy (where they tie it down so it can't torse) so I was told to expect it to happen again. Apparently the follicles on that ovary were very enlarged which is likely what caused it to torse.

Has anyone else had issues with recurrent torsion? It's worrying it's happened to both of my ovaries in the span of three weeks and now I'm really concerned about what to do next. I really want to keep the ovary for fertility and hormone backup, but every doctor has told me at this point I should probably just get it out so I'm really conflicted. I'm also supposed to travel internationally next month and my worst nightmare is it happening again while I'm in another country. I have like 3 or 4 gynecology surgeons talking with each other too because they're all at a loss as to how this suddenly became an issue for me, which is kind of worrying. Just wasn't sure if anyone else has dealt with this too.
