I'm scheduled for Spring-Summer and Fall-Winter, and I guess I'm trying to get some insight so I can determine if this particular schedule is worth tackling or not.
I work full time to support myself and my job is covering my classes (4 days, 10 hr shifts per week) but I do have the flexibility to swap shifts or have a day taken off per week as needed (money will be tight though). I took a lot of time off to get things done this semester, but truthfully, I wouldn't have needed to if I was more organized and disciplined (I'm a bit burnt out, but it's due to a plethora of things). I took four 8-week courses, two at a time, back to back between 1/12 and 5/16
It was rough, but manageable and my grades are solid. I'm working at fulfilling my transfer out agreement requirements and as of now, I'm at 27 credits (of thirty) with only a couple math courses left until I'm done with phase one.
I was planning to take two more 8-weeks simultaneously during the summer (not worried) and then three 16-week courses simultaneously during the Fall semester. All the courses I've taken so far have been just knocking out generals (Eng, Social Science, 1 Science course unrelated to my planned major) so they haven't been difficult or particularly motivating, just time consuming.
The classes I'm looking at for Fall are:
Accelerated Pre-Calc (I have a credited Algebra classes planned for summer as a warmup since it's been awhile)
Biol-2710 (Human Anatomy, 6 credits)
Chem 1050 (intro to general chem)
Biochemistry is my planned major, and these are the classes I was able to nab. To my understanding, 16-week courses are slower paced and these are mostly in-person so I'll have some more hands-on learning.
I'm pushing for so many courses this year mostly to use up my grant from this job (I'm planning to jump ship next year) and to knock out as many credits for an associates as a I can becauss I'll likely be taking next winter semester off to move and find work.
Since these are slightly more challenging courses, do you think I'm moving a bit to fast trying to juggle three? So far, I've only done two at a time. The grades are great, I've found my rhythm towards the end of each round, but this is taking things a step up.
Are three 16-week courses (at once) usually a worse or better experience than four 8-weeks (but two at a time)?
