Double Disadvantage for Non-Hindi Students in UPSC and Central Exams

UPSC is an all-India service exam, so expecting officers to know Hindi or English for work purposes is understandable. But UPSC already has qualifying language papers for that.

Then what is the logic behind forcefully inserting Hindi into question papers in a way that creates an advantage?

My mother tongue is neither Hindi nor English. When I don’t understand an English word, I check the translation but the Hindi translation is often equally unfamiliar to me. So non-Hindi students end up at a double disadvantage.

This is not anti-Hindi. It’s about equal accessibility and fairness for all Indian students.
