My Trans GF wants to move to Jordan
Hello fellow queers.
I am a Jordan local and my close friend and romantic partner that I have know for 8 years always dreamed of moving to an Arab country (since she speaks arabic) and we are doing a little study of how feasible it would be for her to move here.
She is a white trans-woman from California and wants to move to Jordan and probably open up her own business. Her original career is being an English teacher in colleges but recently she been studying Electrology and it is a good opportunity for her to open up such businesses in Amman since its pretty new and most of her customers will be woman too.
My question is, how safe is it for her here? Since I know it is technically legal to be queer in Jordan but also gotta keep in mind that it is not accepted at all by the society.
Also worried that this could turn into a really bad experience for her and I won’t even know how I could handle it if she got mistreated here and we could also face alot of risky situations. And I mean that on society level and not on authority level.
Pretty sure she also needs to live her own life and having her own circle of queer friends who she can hangout with and connect with since I am a local here and still live with my family.. so at sometimes I won’t be available for her since my family are very demanding and also take care of my Mom.
