BoF3 Goo King Mob Farm
I tried searching for a consistent method of farming Goo King for exp, but found nothing so I'm being the change I want to see. The method I'm about to discuss is meant for players who can abuse save states, console players will have to rely on luck and a Rei with an agility score above 90.
Goo King is a skittish mob in BoF3 that offers a lot of exp every time it's killed. 5k for 3 surviving members, 7.5k for 2 surviving members, and 15k for 1 surviving member. More often than not he will escape before you have a chance to kill him. His Achilles Heel is that he **loves** the Green Apple in his pocket and will not part with it for anything which is why you'll have Rei mug him for it. Goo King **hates this** and wants his precious apple back.
Heres the method: Myria Station is where you will find Goo King. You will progress the area as normal until you defeat the Chimera and get Key Card B. Once you have that card you will navigate back to the main lobby and follow the green path. The path will take you up a set of stairs to a door. Upon entering the door you will take the escalator and walk through the door at the top. The room is a healing room just like the one on the Chimera side. Abuse. This. Room. You will then walk out and see a room just like the image above. Walking along the edges of the room (red arrows) will not trigger combat. You will walk to the end of the room and run back and forth along the wall multiple times using the up and right d-pad inputs. Once you feel like you have done this enough, you will stop just above the shiny green tiles next to the wall and create a save state. After you save, use the down d-pad input. If you've done it right, you will enter into combat after a step or two. If it's not Goo King, boot the save state and repeat until he shows up.
Now you're fighting the King himself. Save the game state again. Make sure you have Rei and use pilfer. If he escapes before you can pilfer, load the save state and try again. Once you get the Green Apple the Goo King will stay and read you the riot act. Make sure you have heavy hitters in your party to make it as short a fight as possible since Tornado can drop everyone to 1HP and Ragnarok can damage the whole party. I made sure Ryu had Aura and Nina had Myollnir before doing this loop. After the fight run to the healing room and repeat the process. If you're feeling extra greedy, slap him with charm and abuse save states just before the final blow and get the Goo King Sword.
