Micro garnet? Found in sand from front yard stream. Malibu mountains.
I have been collecting these tiny crystals from the sand using a microscope and tweezers. They are roughly 1mm or less. I searched through a LOT of sand to find these. They are easy to spot luckily due to their color and shape. Looks really nice. I made sure to get sand from infront of the big rocks and have been following the stream uphill to see where the garnet is coming from. Unfortunately I highly doubt ill find any big crystals because its a bunch of sand stone I think these are just tiny ancient deposits that got washed far away from the source. I don't really know what I'm talking about tho all I know is this area used to be underwater a long long time ago so you can find some marine fossils but I haven't seen any around my place but im not that interested in fossil anyways. I need to do a density test and fluorescence
