Let’s start with this: I used to hate the ending of this show.

However, as I have rewatched the show over the years, season 9 and the ending has grown on me. There are so many great moments in the final season and the ending twist despite all the character development Barney gets is not that bad. If you watch the show start to finish you realize how it’s going to end. I’m not saying the ending is perfect but it has grown on me and now season 9 is one of my favorites.
