Are we allowed to open the stapled bag inside the dispensary or not? 🤔
I was in the dispensary (CWS) the other day and I saw somebody open their bag on the way out, said they were checking expiration dates and that they got the right pack they ordered (because there was more than one offering of this strian and presumably they didn't want to overpay for the inferior product). I totally get that and have even heard of people (supposedly) bring a scale and calibration weight to the pharmacy to check if their medicine was short or not.
CWS employee immediately told him, loudly, that he couldn't open the stapled bag inside the pharmacy. Not the actual product, just the plain bag that they put everything in and staple shut.
Anyways, it seems like this should be illegal (if it's not). I couldn't imagine, CVS, Walgreens, or Walmart telling you that you can't open the bag containing your prescription for any reason whatsoever, let alone to check if it's correct and not expiring in the next few days.
What do y'all think? Was the Capitol Wellness employee in the wrong, is that their official policy, or is this some illegal/unethical BS? I don't expect much from these pharmacies, but hearing this scenario was ridiculous. Dude just checked his bag and left, but the Capitol Wellness employee was pretty riled up. I don't think even rec users, let alone medical patients, should be treated this way. Are my expectations too high or do we just have the absolute worst program possible?
