Do I need Intro Macro?
Hi everyone,
I'm a first-year BCom student going into Semester 2 and planning to double major in Accounting and Finance.
According to the 2026 Handbook, ECON10003 Introductory Macroeconomics is no longer a compulsory Commerce core subject and seems to only be required for an Economics major. I know I need to complete ARA and PoF, but I can't find anything saying Intro Macro is required for Finance.
However, I've heard from a few people that you still need Intro Macro for some Level 2 or 3 Finance subjects.
Can anyone confirm whether that's actually true under the 2026 course structure? If I don't take Intro Macro, will I miss out on any compulsory or commonly taken Finance subjects?
Thanks!
