How do you deal with information overload when monitoring news?

One thing I've been thinking about with OSINT is how difficult it can be to keep track of developments when information is scattered across so many different sources.

A single event can show up across news sites, social media, local reporting, press releases, RSS feeds, and other sources. The challenge isn't necessarily finding information anymore. It's figuring out what is actually relevant, what is new, and what is just the same story being repeated.

I've found that manually checking multiple sources every day can become pretty time-consuming, especially when you're trying to monitor developments rather than investigate one specific event.

I'm curious how people here approach this.

Do you have a workflow for:

  • Monitoring multiple news sources without constantly checking them manually?
  • Detecting when several articles are actually about the same event?
  • Filtering out repetitive or low-value information?
  • Getting a quick overview of what changed since the last check?

Would be interested to hear how others in the OSINT community handle this, especially if you're monitoring information on a daily basis.
