**proposal** Standard Galactican (language)

I'm working on a spoken language that uses the Standard Galactic Alphabet (SGA) as its writing system. Rather than simply writing English in SGA, I want to create a unique language inspired by languages like Japanese while remaining completely original.

Pronunciation

Every letter has one consistent sound.

Vowels

- A = ah (father)

- E = eh (bed)

- I = ee (see)

- O = oh (go)

- U = oo (food)

Consonants

Consonants are pronounced as they are in English, with a few rules:

- R is lightly rolled or tapped.

- G is always hard (go), never like "giant."

- C is not used (use K or S instead).

- Every vowel is pronounced. There are no silent letters.

Current grammar

Word order

The language follows Subject – Object – Verb (SOV) order.

Example:

«Mi ra pan ke eta.

As for me, (I) eat bread.»

Particles

- ra – Topic ("as for...")

- Mi ra = As for me...

- ke – Direct object

- Pan ke = Bread (object)

- na – Destination / to

- Tera na = To the planet

- di – Possession / of

- Mi di luma = My friend

- lo – With / together with

- Ti lo = With you

Current dictionary

Galactic | Pronounced | English

--------------------------------------------

Mi | mee | I / me

Ti | tee | You

Ni | nee | We / us

Pan | pahn | Bread

Eta | eh-tah | To eat

Vida | vee-dah | To see

Go | goh | To go

Luma | loo-mah | Friend

Tera | teh-rah | Planet

Sora | soh-rah | Star

Aqua | ah-koo-ah | Water

Pyra | pee-rah | Fire

Nari | nah-ree | Hello

Varo | vah-roh | Goodbye

Ka | kah | Yes (also planned as question marker)

Ne | neh | No

This is still an early concept, so I'd love to hear your suggestions, ideas, and feedback. I'm especially interested in thoughts on the grammar, particles, vocabulary, and pronunciation.

I'm trying to identify a murder case that a YouTuber mentioned when talking about childhood fears.

I'm trying to identify a murder case that a YouTuber mentioned when talking about childhood fears.

Details I know:

  • The YouTuber is Tyler Vetelli.
  • He was born in Los Angeles, California in 2002 and has lived in California his whole life.
  • He described being scared as a kid because of a murderer associated with a white van.
  • The case was probably something he heard about during childhood, so I'm guessing roughly 2007–2012, though it could be earlier if it was still being discussed in the news.
  • I don't remember whether the killer was a serial killer, child abductor, or just involved in a single murder.

Does anyone know of a California or Los Angeles-area murder case from around that period that became known for a white van? Even obscure possibilities would be helpful.

Thanks!

Childhood fears we all had.(Tyler Vitelli)
