Hp z4 g4 beep with 3090 & 2nd gpu
Hi all - I have a hp z4 g4 and its been humming with a combined 28 gb vram for some time (4070 super 12gb and 5060 ti 16gb), it has a 1k psu.
However I like to “fix” and “improve” things until they’re broken. Enter a used 3090.
Ever since I tried the 3090 I’ve been getting random beeps. At first I thought heat, but this was occurring even with the lid off. It beeps whenever load starts only a minute or 2 in, not sustained load.
My partner hates these beeps and I’ve removed the 3090 to see if it still occurs with the other gpus(it never did before). The only next option I know of is a front and back fan upgrade. I previously upped idle fan speed in bios but no change.
Perhaps this is a flawed used card? Checking someone here may have experienced these random long beeps and could point me to a root cause? Again assume it’s power or heat, but I don’t know how to identify it. Thanks!
