Job application struggles/not qualified enough?
Newly graduated biomedical engineer here. I applied to over 200 jobs and had about 6 interviews, however they all end in rejection (some I made it all the way to the third round). These have been a mix of medical device, rehabilitation engineering, and prosthetic companies. They say that I am not experienced enough and that I need to either get a masters or certification. They also suggested taking a very entry level job that only requires a high school diploma. I’m very lost because I figured it wouldn’t be this hard especially with an engineering degree from an ABET accredited school. All of my other engineering friends found job very quickly and I feel left behind. I am trying not to regret my choice choosing biomedical engineering but it’s getting very tough. I’m against getting my masters mainly because what if it’s still hard to find a job and I’m in even more debt. If anyone has any advice I would love to hear it, trying not to feel defeated.
