Sourcing high-quality Orthopedic Pet Beds in the UK (Looking for UK-based suppliers/agents)

Hey everyone,

I’m setting up a niche Shopify store targeting the UK market, specifically focusing on high-quality orthopedic pet beds for older dogs and large breeds.

Because this is a health/comfort product, quality control is everything. I want to avoid cheap, low-density foam that stays flat after shipping, which leads to 1-star reviews. I am looking to keep domestic shipping times down to 2–5 days to compete with Amazon and Pets at Home.

I have two main questions for the UK dropship community:

First, for those in the pet furniture niche, do you source via UK-fulfilled platforms like Syncee/Avasam, or directly with trade accounts like Scruffs or Gor Pets? If you source from China via private agents, how are you navigating the high shipping costs for bulky beds into the UK, and are your suppliers vacuum-packing them?

Second, is a steady £1,000 to £2,000 a month in net profit realistic for this specific sub-niche in the UK? Given UK ad costs on TikTok/Facebook and standard UK courier fees for oversized parcels, do the margins on premium orthopedic beds (£70-£120 retail) hold up well enough?

Would love to hear from anyone running e-commerce stores or dropshipping bulky pet items in the UK. Cheers!
