Chinese Teaching Advice
Hello I am currently in the process of relocating to China with my wife who is a Chinese citizen. I am right now entering on a Q1 visa but I want to work as an English teacher while I’m there. I have an 150 hour TEFL certificate, unrelated Bachelors, no classroom teaching experience but almost a year of tutoring experience. The big problem I’m facing is that I am an Asian American and every time they ask for a short introduction video I immediately become ghosted. When my Chinese wife tries to talk to them they say they're only looking for white people. For any Asian Americans who were able to teach English in China how did you do it? Is there any known recruiters or schools that won’t just completely stop the interview process because I’m Asian. Any advice helps!
