Scabbards in Progress!
Works in progress! Really happy with how these sunflowers are coming along!

Sometimes all an elegant longsword requires is a simple, elegant scabbard. I made this one over the weekend for an Albion Regent I just acquired. I’m particularly happy with the thin, simple belt, which was made using a single strap of leather.
A couple more pieces I’ll have available at the Lexington Renaissance Faire in a few weeks! These were built using Hanwei/Tinker blades, fittings from The Printed Armory, and of course grips and scabbards made by me. I still need to make chapes, but they’re basically finished.
Well, I’ve been teasing it for days, but this commissioned scabbard for an Albion Crécy is finally finished. Really happy with how it came out, particularly the peaches and the pink apple blossom.
I don’t usually share this in-progress pics, but I’m just tickled with how these peaches and flowers came out.
Another in-progress pic of my current scabbard commission. I’m happy with it so far.
Lots going on in the workshop today! An in-progress scabbard for an Albion Crécy, featuring fruit and flowers. And grips and scabbard cores for a couple of Hanwei/Tinker arming swords. Busy day!!
Here’s a scabbard I was commissioned to make for an Albion Caithness. I really like how it turned out!
Finished the seahorse scabbard I posted yesterday. Really happy with how it came out!
Work in progress! This is not a commission, but I’ve gotten a bee in my bonnet the last few days, about making seahorse themed scabbard. I like it.
Finished scabbard for an Albion Burgundian today. A little disappointed, because the upper portion of the belt was meant to be a bit brighter red; I wanted it to pop more than it does. But sometimes dye has a mind if its own. But it still looks good, I think. Also, it’s so nice out, I thought I’d try taking some pics on the porch.
Some in-progress pics of a scabbard I’m working on.
Threw this little number together today
for my Albion Lancaster. The rare scabbard just for me. I never have time to make scabbards for my own swords anymore. Nothing too over the top, but I like it.
Here a scabbard I was commissioned to make for a custom sword made by Brian Kerce. This one was a lot of work but I love how it came out!
Finished this new rig for an Albion Regent today!
Finished this commissioned scabbard and grip rewrap today, for a bastard sword made by Swordier. Really happy with how this one came out!
Here’s another longsword build I finished yesterday, using a Hanwei/Tinker longsword blade, a pommel from the Printed Armory, and another guard I scavenged from some old sword. And of course the grip and scabbard were made by me. This is another one that will be available at my booth at the Lexington Renaissance Faire later this summer.
Fresh off the bench is a scabbard commission for an Albion Chevalier, which is incidentally one of my favorite swords. The client requested a “maximalist” scabbard bursting with color, flowers, and whimsical medieval animals. This one was a challenge, and was very nearly ruined when I had an incident with a bottle of blue leather dye. But I saved it, sacrificing my arms in the process 😂
Featuring more whimsical medieval animals!
Here is a project sword that I will have available at my table at the Lexington Renaissance Faire later this summer. The blade is a Hanwei Tinker bastard blade, the pommel is from the Printed Armory, and the guard I scavenged from some old sword and reshaped. And of course, the grip and scabbard were made by me.
