That time is our master only true to say

It ages us slowly by day to day

We do show our years past our physical prime

Nobody has ever grown younger in time

He is showing his years the former great athlete

Nowadays he walks slowly on his aged feet

He was a sporting hero of the past

But long gone are the days when he used to run fast

In his prime years so many big races he won

But time slowed him down like it slows down everyone

Anyone in time does never grow young

And it treats as equal the famed and the unsung

That time is our master is not a lie

Eventually in time we all grow old and die

He may not be amongst the brightest or most successful people in the town

But this does not give you in your words the right to put him down

He has never harmed you in any sort of a way

Yet of him you do not have one nice thing to say

A kind enough fellow doing the best he can do

I have never heard him say any negative thing about you

In fact i have known him for quite a long time and can clearly recall

That i have never heard him say anything negative about anyone at all

To him you feel superior going by of him what you say

But most people who know both of you do not see it this way

Unlike you he does not have in his career accomplishments a university degree

But than you he is far more likeable as most would agree

Live and let live good advice to live by

And i am sure that these words to you too does apply.

To greatly increase their fan numbers they must have what it does require

Those scarce worth admiring that so many admire

For lack of humility and narcissism the reward of a financial dividend does pay

For so many self centred greedy people in the world of today

But having this said as most would agree

That there are many financially wealthy people not lacking in empathy

Who perform a good deed or two every day

By helping people out in a financial way

Humanity is made of all kinds one suppose

And those with heaps of money are not without friends and foes

But that the greedy and self centred as ever are not in the few

Is not saying anything in any way that is new

And those who are kind to others in truth one can say

Will be rewarded with good karma in some form or way

Not one of the admired and the widely known

But of a better world to live in the seeds he has sown

Since every day he does perform a good deed

By willingly helping one of helping in need

In his very early twenties not yet in his life's prime

He keeps himself busy in his work free time

Helping some of his elderly neighbours living in financial poverty

With their shopping and other jobs and his services to them are free

Quite a compassionate person of him one can say

In the field of good example he leads the way

For a better world to live in his part he does play

And his sort are rare in the world of today

Of the needs of those doing it tough one who is aware

And his sort nowadays in the world are rare.

For many of nature's species of wildlife of water and land extinction not far away

And this is a sad thing for to have to say

The seas and big rivers overfished and trees on land for development removed for to make way

And many species of animals and birds getting rarer by the day

The earth that does feed us is for us humans to live on and with other creatures to share

But far too many of us of this does not seem aware

In time we may not be far from the first silent Spring

And even the very thought of this does seem quite a sad thing

From our earth mother the one we depend on to live

We take and we take and in return to her nothing give

What we do nature and our earth mother is to all of our shame

And the future generations of people will have us to blame

For the natural beauty that we have destroyed

That due to our financial greed of them has been denied.

I am one of those people addicted to penning of rhyme

That many dismiss as a mere waste of time

Since for doing it i never receive any pay

And as is said of money it speaks every language in the world of today

Though never for money or any literary renown

The rhymes that come to me in notebook i write down

And post them to be published in literary sites online

Though fame as a writer will never be mine

I never refer to myself as a poet

Nor am i one worthy of literary note

An averages rhymer is the best i can be

At rhyming there are many far better than me

In nineteen seventy three on my twenty seventh year i penned my first rhyme

And this is going back some five decades in time

And though the best years of my life are in the forever gone

For as long as i can do i will keep on rhyming on.

To the winner goes all of the rewards and fame

And the loser is always the forgotten name

And though losing is a thing anyone never choose

For one to win big someone else has to lose

But humanity is designed for to work on this way

For winners there are losers in the world every day

This is how it is and how it always will be

Winners and losers are a source for inequality

In a human world where somebody's loss becomes someone else gain

That there could not be winners without losers as a fact does remain

We hear of and read of winners and losers in the news every day

For the losers in life never a loud hooray

For every winner there has to be losers in truth one can say

This is how it is and how it will stay.

It is only stating what is factual and fact never lie

That the goddess of nature she will never die

In Winter she hibernates just for awhile

And in Spring she awakes with a marvellous green smile

The beauty she creates to view is financially free

It is all around you and it is all around me

From a tiny seed she helps mother earth to grow a marvellous tree

In all of her seasons beauty in her to see

It is indeed a sad thing of to be aware

That some of her species of wild-born animals and birds are becoming rare

Even the very thought of it seems quite a sad thing

That in time we may not be far from the first silent Spring

Even those who know most about her claim many things about her remain as unknown

Of nature the one who has ways of her own.

Through different eyes difference we do see

And you look at life very different to me

If we all agreed on all things how boring we would seem to be

Our individual thinking makes us more interesting would you not agree

In our political views nothing in common we share

But among people one can say that this is not rare

Though your political views are quite different to mine

I respect your opinions and this suits me fine

The political party you support is very conservative and to the political right

In this we are as different as day is from night

Your political party believe in non violence in the democratic way

And for this respect to them i only can pay

And since i know that if i was in financial trouble you would not see me down

You remain as one of my best friends in the town.

In itself it is a beautiful thing

Of the praises of love we all ought to sing

Of those with love in them one only can say

That they make new friends for themselves every day

People with love in them for to give them their due

To their higher selves do live as true

They perform acts of kindness on their side of the town

And in their words never put anyone down

Those with love in them are a peaceable race

For hatred in their minds there is not any space

Some of the love that is in them with others they share

Their sort of people are special and rare

Honourable and humble and free of conceit

Their sort of people are a pleasure to meet.

There is little doubt music it is of the soul

Down memory lane it takes us on a stroll

To song it is married they interrelate

And beauty together do always create

They have been partners for centuries of years

And relive the memories of joy and of tears

People of all countries, races and cultures love music and song

To enjoy and dance to and sing along

By music and song ageing people taken back in time

To when they were younger in their teens and physical prime

The music and song live in their memory

Of their happy times in the what used to be

Partners forever as has been told

Music and song they never grow old.

We do admire them for their wealth and their fame

And due to us they are widely known by name

We choose them as leaders and of them then complain

Yet the mistakes we make we may repeat again

How come so many people narcissists do admire

And just to be like them their lifetime desire

But on hindsight some who admire them does come to see

That they are not as good as they made them out to be

It always does seem rather puzzling to me

Why so many admire those lacking in humility

It is something that is beyond me to explain

That narcissists so many admirers do gain

Like the weeds of the garden they stifle every flower

But we have ourselves to blame for giving them the power

Over us in the first place and of them then complain

Though their mistakes of the past many repeat again.

Nature has many wonders as most people does come to know

And one of them is Moygil where the Hopkins river into the pacific does flow

Where the big river in south west Victoria at its journeys end joins the sea

The great beauty that is in nature anyone does not pay to see

The memory of such amazing beauty a lifetime with one does stay

Where the white surf waves are tossing and tumbling every night and day

At a spot where the ocean does never seem at rest

Near Warrnambool City in Victoria's south west

That has inspired the artists to sketch and the writers to write of in song, story and rhyme

That was old very old even in the dinosaur time

To the south west's first people the Gundijtmara race

Moygil will always be a sacred place

Among nature's finest a view to compete

From moygil where the Hopkins river and the pacific ocean meet.

The people with kindness in them have a great gift indeed

Since they are the friends of those of friends in need

They never ignore the financially down

And their sort are an asset to any city or town

Kindness is a sibling of compassion and empathy

And those with it are a gift to humanity

To help those in need of helping they often go out of their way

And they perform a good deed or two every day

Their names never seen on a memorial wall

For their acts of kindness they never seek any recognition at all

The poor of the town they never ignore

And of their sort the human world is in need of more

Though for their kindness many them do not admire

Of singing their praises i for one cannot tire.

We all need a dream in life for to cling to

This applies to everyone as well as me and you

She or he among the sad sacks of the town

Who do not have a dream to resort to when they are feeling down

Though for many people their dream never come true

We all need a dream in our mind to pursue

Those without a dream on their down days always struggling to cope

And they look to the future without any hope

Of happier times in the days ahead

In those without a dream hope for the better is dead

In those with a dream though financially struggling to survive

Hope for times better in them is alive

But those without a dream when having a bad day

Always look at life in a negative way.

So you believe life on you is rather tough

But compared to many you have it easy enough

Since you have a bed to sleep in every night

And a roof over your head to shut out the moon and stars light

You may well complain about your weekly take home pay

But compared to many you are doing quite okay

Worldwide there are millions of people who envy people like you

Since compared to them so financially well you do

Your wealth or lack of it is a relative thing one can say

And so many far worse off than you are today

In a human world where the gap between the wealthy and the poor by the year has grown

So many are homeless and hungry due to no fault of their own

You may not be one of the wealthy and drive in a big new car

But so many people are financially far worse than you are

Of any financial assistance you are one of those not in need

And compared to many you are quite lucky indeed.

A true friend of nature of her one can say

The woman who loved birds was buried today

Though life in her backyard without her will go on

The birds are left wondering to where she has gone

The birds in her garden never short of a feed

But the bird feeders empty now of fruit and seed

By appearance, chirp or song she knew each species by name

And they seemed to know her and in her presence almost tame

Of a heart attack she died in her seventy sixth year of life

And she was never anyone's partner or wife

She did love the birds and of their needs was aware

And she felt sad that many species of them are becoming rare

For all of us from life a final release

And the woman who loved birds may she rest in peace.

It is something that is not hard to believe

That those open to learning knowledge the award they receive

And old words of wisdom worthy of recall

That those who believe they know everything know little at all

And it only does seem a true thing for to say

That those good at listening learn new things every day

Those whilst talking not learning as a truism remain

And those good at listening knowledge is their gain

And it can be said of the dunce of the school

May not be the one who will dies as a fool

Life is our greatest teacher of all

We have been learning from it before we learned how to crawl

And the lessons of life are more than a few

And every day we live we learn something new.

Men and women can fall in love at any time

As teenagers or in mid life or their physical prime

Or in their seventies or eighties or older love to it does not have an age

Old wisdom worth quoting from the tongue of a sage

Never too old to love and never too young to die

Who ever first said that was not stating a lie

And an old pearl of wisdom worthy of recall

Is to better know of love and fail than never to know of it at all

That love is unrequited when not shared by two

The one that you love in turn may not love you

And as is said of love it does not die in a day

This is how it is and it was always this way

Love that gives rise to laughter and tears

In most people is known to live on for years

Many stories of love have been written and told

And to fall in love one is never too young or never too old.

He is not an entertainer or does not play guitar

And he is not a patron at the local public bar

He does not have a motor bike or a motor car

And he is not into sport as many young men of his age are

He is not a member of any local committee

And is not known to many in the community

For to be wealthy and famous he feels no desire

And for greatness of any sort he does not aspire

To as he is one who likes to do his own thing

Walking on the woodland pathway listening to the birds sing

Quite different to most men in their physical prime

On Saturday and Sunday on his work free time

One who loves learning from nature of him one can say

Quite different to most others in his own way.
