I worked in a locally owned place for nearly 10 years. Six years into working there, management hired on someone from a similar chain type place to help run it.

The person was the absolute worst boss ever. They carried themselves like they knew everything when they didn't. They were overheard talking to a customer and giving them false information on some products. Turns out they had actually bought a large stock in these products and basically overbought them to make their stocks rise.

Shortly after I left, the business was sold to a chain and their corporate managers came in and lost it over the abundance of this product. In which they turned around and fired everyone remaining from the original management team.
