Finished and tested- fun!

Alright, you guys gave me the itch to build a new 10-22 recently and i finally completed and tested it out. Ive only had classic 10-22s so i wanted to get really crazy and make something unique, at least for me. Behold! My charger style 10-22. It was an extremely fun build and is insanely fun to shoot. Here are the parts i used:

Faxon FF22 receiver (+ vblock and bolt buffer)

Acculite 4.5" barrel

Dead Air Mask .22 suppressor

Midwest industries aluminum 8" chassis

Kidd bolt

Kidd charging handle

Kidd mag release

Tandemkross rotary safety

Tandemkross bolt keeper

Tandemkross cross pins and mag pins

A3 industries rear picatinny adapter

SB folding pistol brace

Milspec spare grip

Holosun 407a3x2 on a trijicon rmr mount

The trigger housing is an aluminum one from an old 10-22 we shot growing up with the trigger and all parts being swapped out for BX parts.

The Faxon receiver and MI chassis do not fit together due to the rail on the receiver interfering with the handguard. I milled out a relief section on the handguard (yes Midwest Industries, i know i voided the warranty but it was WORTH IT!) And filed off some material on both sides of the receiver so it would slide on very snugly.

The gun is light and a joy to shoot- i cannot believe how smooth the action is with the Kidd bolt and charging handle. The rotary safety is awesome and i love love love the bolt keeper system. The knob makes it easy to find and lock back and the slingshot movement to get into battery is such a massive upgrade compared to stock.

The only negative is the kidd extended mag release- with this chassis its very hard to work the extended lever. I will probably make an extension that sticks out on the sides of the lever a bit so i can flip it easily. This is not Kidd's fault, the lever is otherwise fantastic and i love it.

It is extremely accurate and did great with a bunch of ammo. The winchester ones (x?) with the squared noses did poorly, lot of misfeeds and nosedives into the magazines, but this happened in the stock ruger as well so i know it isnt the bolt. It was trash ammo thats gotten wet and been sitting for years so im glad with the performance. Shooting suppressed is awesome with this gun- its so quiet with the dead air mask you can even shoot it indoors with no muffs. All in all im super thrilled with this and i think its my new favorite gun to shoot!
