I have 2 roughly identical strands, both branded K. Otsuki & Co. I think they date from the mid 60s to early 70s when my grandfather would have been stationed in Japan. Rather than a clasp, both strands are terminated with red wax seals with JCE stamped on them, I do not know what these initials mean. They are not individually knotted. I assume the unfinished nature means they were probably sold to be restrung by a jeweler.

The largest pearl is ~7mm across and the smallest ones are ~3.3mm. The drilled holes are small and unbeveled, and they do feel rough on the edge of my teeth.

Anything you can tell me would be much appreciated.
