Been going down a rabbit hole trying to figure out roughly what the DT members might be earning/worth after 40 years in the band, and honestly there's way less hard data out there than I expected for a band this legendary.

So genuine question for people who follow the business side of this stuff more than I do: realistically, are guys like Petrucci and Myung sitting on generational wealth at this point, or is prog metal - even at the top of the genre - just... not that lucrative compared to what people assume? Curious if anyone has better sources than the usual net-worth-calculator garbage.

I know a lot of people were disappointed when DT announced they wouldn’t be bringing the Parasomnia/ACOS tour to Europe.
I actually think it was the right call. They had already done two European legs for the 40th Anniversary tour, and I imagine they noticed that the Parasomnia tour in the US didn’t sell as well because it came almost immediately after their anniversary run there.
The last time I saw DT was in Berlin and Frankfurt in 2024, and I’m honestly getting really excited to see them live again.
A few years ago, I was actually a bit spoiled by how often they came to Europe. (I know how stupid this sounds) They toured here so frequently that I skipped a couple of runs because I knew they’d be back soon anyway. Ironically, giving Europe a break has made me way more excited for their return. Now I’m hyped for whatever they decide to bring—maybe a new album and The Twelve-Step Suite? That would be incredible.

I think they could really benefit from working with an external producer. The sound has become somewhat predictable since the self-titled album.
