Built an 8-bit CPU from NAND gates in Digital Logic Sim – it runs a tiny OS with Tetris, Snake, Breakout & Flappy Bird

Just finished this one: an 8-bit CPU built entirely from NAND gates in Digital Logic Sim. 800 kHz, 16-bit addressing with 64K of RAM, and a small OS running four games playable live with the keyboard.

Writing programs in binary by hand got painful fast, so I also wrote my own language and a compiler that outputs the program memory contents directly.

Happy to go into the architecture if anyone’s interested.
