The Price of Silence
Chapter 2
Heer had finally found peace in the life she had built for herself. It wasn’t perfect, but it was hers. She had a home, a stable job, and, for the first time in years, she could breathe without fear.
The first people she reached out to were Neelu and Preeti.
The moment they heard her voice, both broke down in tears. They had spent months wondering whether Heer was alive, safe, or suffering somewhere alone. Knowing she was safe lifted a weight from their hearts.
Meanwhile, Nawab had visited Neelu and Preeti countless times.
Every visit carried the same hope—that they would tell him where Heer was.
He even offered to help them financially, insisting it was the least he could do.
Neelu looked him straight in the eyes and pushed the envelope back toward him.
“I would rather struggle than accept money from the man who destroyed my daughter’s life.”
Her words struck harder than any slap.
“You didn’t just lose Heer, Nawab,” she continued. “You broke her faith. You watched her suffer, and you did nothing.”
Nawab lowered his head. He had no defense.
“I know,” he whispered.
“And now you must live with what you’ve done.”
He left without another word.
Months later, Heer brought Neelu and Preeti to live with her. The small house suddenly felt like a home filled with laughter, shared meals, and the warmth of a family reunited.
When the news reached Nawab, his heart pounded.
A flicker of hope lit inside him.
But it disappeared just as quickly.
He knew she was somewhere in the same world, living a life without him.
He knew she was happy.
And he had no way of reaching her.
For the first time, Nawab understood what true helplessness felt like.
Every road led to a dead end.
Every night ended with the same question echoing in his mind:
“If I ever see Heer again… will she even look at me?”
There was no answer.
Only silence—and the weight of the life he had lost.
The rain fell softly outside as Heer stood by the window of her modest home, a cup of tea warming her hands. For the first time in years, silence didn’t feel lonely. It felt peaceful.
Behind her, laughter echoed through the house.
Preeti was teasing Neelu over burnt rotis, and Neelu was pretending to scold her while trying not to laugh herself.
Heer smiled.
This was the family she had fought to protect.
After months of careful planning, she had finally convinced Neelu and Preeti to leave everything behind and come live with her. They deserved a fresh start just as much as she did.
Hundreds of kilometers away, Nawab stood outside Neelu’s old house.
The door was locked.
The windows were empty.
Even the neighbors knew very little.
They left a few days ago,” one elderly woman told him. “The girl came with someone to collect their things.”
“Did they say where they were going?” Nawab asked desperately.
She shook her head.
“No.”
The single word crushed him.
He leaned against the gate, staring at the house that had once given him hope. Every time he came here, he believed that maybe today someone would tell him where Heer was.
Instead, even that last thread had slipped away.
Nawab recalled
A few weeks earlier…
Nawab had visited Neelu once again.
Without saying much, he placed an envelope on the table.
“There is some money. Please… at least let me help.”
Neelu looked at the envelope before pushing it back toward him.
“My daughter didn’t need your money.”
Nawab swallowed hard.
“She needed you.”
The words pierced straight through his heart.
“I know…” he whispered.
“No, Nawab,” Neelu replied firmly. “You know it now. You didn’t know it when she was crying herself to sleep. You didn’t know it.
Nawab felt hopeless
Nawab walked slowly toward the little ice cream stall by the lake—the same one where he and Heer had spent countless evenings together.
The old vendor wasn’t there anymore, but the faded blue cart still stood in the same corner.
Without thinking, Nawab ordered two ice creams.
The vendor handed them over with a smile.
“Sir… you asked for two.”
Nawab stared at the second cone in his hand. His smile faded.
“Old habit,” he said softly.
He sat on the bench overlooking the lake, one ice cream untouched beside him.
A gentle breeze brushed against his face, and suddenly the silence filled with memories.
“Nawab, don’t finish yours so fast!” Heer pouted, trying to protect her melting chocolate cone.
“Why? So you can steal mine again?” he teased.
“Sharing is caring,” she laughed, taking a big bite of his ice cream before he could stop her.
“Heer!” he protested dramatically.
She burst into laughter, her eyes sparkling. “Now both of them taste sweeter.”
He had pretended to be annoyed, but in truth, he had never minded. Watching her smile was enough.
The memory faded as quickly as it had come.
Nawab looked at the untouched ice cream slowly melting in his hand.
“What are you doing now, Heer?” he murmured. “Are you happy? Have you forgotten me?”
The thought of her smiling with someone else felt like a knife twisting in his heart.
He laughed bitterly.
“You deserve happiness… even if I’m not a part of it.”
A tear escaped despite all his efforts to hold it back.
For the first time in years, Nawab didn’t feel like the strong man everyone admired.
He felt like a man who had reached the place where he had once found love… only to realize he had come back alone.
The Price of Silence
Hi everyone! ❤️
I’m honestly so frustrated with the current track that it inspired me to write my own version of Heer’s story.
This is my very first attempt at writing a fanfiction, so I’m a little nervous about sharing it. 😊
I’d truly appreciate your support. If you enjoy the story, please let me know what you liked. If you don’t, I’d still love to hear your honest feedback so I can improve.
I hope you’ll give my version of Heer the love she deserves. Let me know if I should continue??
Happy reading! ❤️
Chapter 1 – The Price of Silence
The Brar mansion had never felt so lonely.
Heer stood in the middle of the bedroom that once held her dreams. She looked around quietly. Every corner reminded her of the promises Nawab had made.
“I’ll tell everyone soon, Heer. Just trust me.”
She had trusted him.
She had waited.
She had sacrificed.
But today…
She had heard him agree to marry Nimrit.
Standing outside the drawing room, she had heard Dadi ask,
“So it’s decided? You’ll marry Nimrit?”
After a long silence…
Nawab’s voice came. He was unaware that Heer is listening everything. He just want to buy sometimes.
“…Yes.”
That single word shattered her heart.
She didn’t wait to hear anything else.
There was nothing left to hear.
Nawab went to office and then for cricket practice out of town for 3 days. He kept texting Heer. Nawab knows Heer is mad at him. He is waiting to go back.
He thinks he’s sort everything out
Late that night…
Heer folded her wedding dupatta with trembling hands.
She picked up the mangalsutra hidden beneath her clothes.
For a few seconds, she held it against her chest.
Tears streamed down her face.
“I loved you more than I loved myself, Nawab.”
She carefully placed the mangalsutra inside the drawer.
Then she signed the divorce papers.
Her hands shook so badly that her signature was barely visible.
She slipped the papers into an envelope.
Beside them she placed one final letter.
Without waking anyone…
Without saying goodbye…
The girl who had entered the house as Mrs. Heer Brar quietly walked out through the main gate.
No one stopped her.
No one even knew she was leaving forever.
A few hours later…
A bus pulled out of the city.
Heer sat by the window, wiping her tears before anyone could notice.
She deleted Nawab’s number.
Then every photograph.
Finally…
She removed her wedding ring.
Looking out at the highway, she whispered,
“From today…
I’m just Heer.”
A new city.
A tiny rented room.
A new internship.
During the day she attended university.
In the evening she worked at a café to pay rent.
At night…
She cried herself to sleep.
Whenever customers smiled at her, she smiled back.
But no one knew the girl serving coffee had buried her entire life behind that smile.
Whenever Nawab’s memories returned…
She would whisper to herself,
“He’s a cheater.”
“He never chose you.”
“Forget him.”
She repeated those words every day until they became a habit.
Heer chose her self respect
Back at the Brar mansion…
Three days passed.
Nawab finally returned from cricket practice.
He stretched lazily.
Gulab told Nawab that Heer went to her Moms house.
“I’ll go pick Heer from Neelu Maa’s house tomorrow.”
He smiled.
“She must still be angry.”
He entered his room.
Something felt different.
Too quiet.
He looked around.
Her clothes were gone.
Her books were gone.
The little plant she watered every morning…
Gone.
His smile faded.
He immediately called her.
“The number you are trying to reach is switched off.”
Again.
Again.
Again.
Nothing.
His heartbeat quickened.
He ran downstairs.
“Neelu Maa!”
Neelu looked at him in confusion.
“Where is Heer?”
Nawab frowned.
“I came to ask you the same thing.”
Neelu’s face turned pale.
“What do you mean?”
“I thought she came here.”
“She never came.”
The room fell silent.
Everyone looked at one another.
For the first time…
Fear settled inside Nawab’s heart.
For the next several days…
He searched everywhere.
Bus stations.
Railway stations.
Hospitals.
Hostels.
Her college.
Every friend she knew.
Nothing.
It was as if Heer had disappeared from the world.
One exhausted night…
Nawab walked back into his room.
He collapsed onto the bed.
His eyes landed on an envelope resting inside the drawer.
His hands trembled.
He slowly opened it.
The first thing he saw…
Divorce papers.
Signed.
His breathing stopped.
“No…”
He unfolded the letter.
Hi Nawab,
I know you must be worried or looking for me.
Please don’t search for me anymore.
We are not made for each other.
We loved each other, but we never respected each other.
I loved you with everything I had.
I fought the whole world for you.
But when it was your turn to fight for me…
You chose your family.
Congratulations on your marriage with Nimrit.
I have signed the divorce papers.
You are free now.
You don’t have to hide our relationship anymore because I am no one to you.
I hope one day you become brave enough to choose the person you love.
Goodbye.
— Heer
The letter slipped from his hands.
“No…”
He whispered.
“No… Heer…”
He dropped to his knees.
Tears poured uncontrollably.
“I never wanted this…”
He cried into his hands like a broken child.
“I was going to tell everyone…”
“But I was too late.”
For the first time in his life…
Nawab realized that silence could destroy a love more completely than hatred ever could.
Months passed.
The Brar mansion was no longer filled with laughter.
Nawab barely spoke.
He ate little.
He slept even less.
Every city his cricket team visited became another chance to search for Heer.
He checked universities.
Hospitals.
Libraries.
Every place where he thought she might be.
Nothing.
One evening, Dadi finally confronted him.
“How long will you keep living like this?”
Nawab looked at her with tear-filled eyes.
“Because I lost my wife.”
The room fell silent.
Dadi frowned.
“Wife?”
Nawab nodded.
“Two years ago… Heer and I got married.”
The dadi stood frozen. Like she got Dora( Dramatic)
Dadi could not believe what she had just heard.
Dadi staggered backward and sat down.
“You… hid your marriage from me?”
“I was afraid.”
“And because of my fear…”
“I lost her.”
He broke down once again.
“I destroyed the only relationship that truly mattered.”
Gulab tried to console Nawab and played another game.
Heer is gone now.
Nimrit is your future.
Dadi and Gulab tried to convince Nawab.
Nawab told them Heer is still my wife and I am belong to her only.
Gulab and Dadi left
Two years passed.
Nawab became one of the country’s rising cricket stars.
Crowds cheered his name.
Television channels praised his performances.
But behind every century he scored…
There was a man carrying unbearable guilt.
Every hotel room reminded him of Heer.
Every airport made him wonder…
“Is she somewhere in this city?”
Every victory felt empty.
Because the one person he wanted to celebrate with was gone.
Far away, in another city, Heer was also rebuilding her life—unaware that fate was slowly preparing to bring them face to face once again.
Episode out
Mera dimag b out ho chukka. Shefali ka Sunflower 🌻 muje itna bura lag raha hai na. No no no I don’t want shitty dream sequence 🤧❤️🩹mujse Saha nhi ja raha
Nawab kyu Gade ki trah behave krte ho
Nawab ke samne sab huya hai. Gulab kis had tak ja skti hai. He knows it very well. He still behaves like his mother is saint and Heer is just belaming her.
Bhai heer chale jao is ghar se. I want Nawab to run after you. 🤧
Gulaab is such an opportunist
How can a wife take advantage of her husband’s health like this? He just had a heart attack, and instead of caring for him, she’s still busy playing games and manipulating his son . I genuinely can’t stand Gulab’s character. As a wife, she shows no compassion, and as a mother, her behavior is even harder to understand.
Haye Kya 🎬 tha ❤️❤️🙈
Logon ka din bnta hai meri raat ban gyi . I can sleep peacefully and go to work without feeling stressed 😰 about Heewab 😂
Uncle Dalip😡
Why is he being so dramatic? The way they are showing it, he’s about to have another heart attack. 😭 Girl, I’m a nurse—I know recovery after a heart attack doesn’t happen overnight. This man was up and walking around the very next day, and now we’re back to the same drama again?but this time I hope they won’t separate heewab.
And tell me honestly, if it were their own daughter, would they have treated her the same way? The double standards are impossible to ignore.
Also, didn’t Gulab tell Dalip to open the temple in Heer’s name and that she would provide the money? Brar was rich? Not they? 💰 So what changed? Now, all of a sudden, everyone is acting as if Daler Aunty has the power to throw them out onto the streets.🤔🤯
Nawab and Heer, please don’t trust Mata Ji Gulab so easily. One life lesson I’ve learned is this: someone who stings you once can do it again.
Kisi ka koi stand nhi is Drama me!
Mera apna b nhi I said million times I will quit watching but Razmeet is my only medicine 💊 which cure me from my anxiety 😥.
Daler dadi is too much.
I was born and brought up in a Punjabi family, and both my paternal and maternal sides are from villages. In our families, everyone knows everything—who got married, who passed away, and every major family event spreads quickly.
So how is it possible that Daler Dadi, who is supposedly such an important member of the family, wasn’t even invited to Nawab’s wedding? And even if she wasn’t invited, are we seriously supposed to believe that no one informed the family back home? That just doesn’t make sense.
At this point, Daler Dadi (or Chachi, whatever they’re calling her) is just becoming annoying to me.Because it’s hard to watch these kinds of characters when you come from the same Roots.
Am I looking for logic again?😭
Muje pta tha party ho aur siyapa na ho. impossible 😡
I am watching the show on TV. Kuch nhi hua telephone booth me. Bas lad rhe hai 😡
Nawab just won my heart ♥️ today
He said once that he will marry her and bring her to Brad’s house hath pakd ke. Lekin utha ke le aya ye banda❤️❤️❤️❤️Kya episode tha 🤌
Logon ke thappd(slap) se aur muje party se darr lgta hai 😰
TJJD ki parties se muje bahut darr lgta hai. Jab jab party huyi uske bad jo kand ( punjabi me Kehte hai kut kalesh) jo hota hai na. I am not ready for this. I started watching TJJD during Valentine’s episodes. I am still traumatized with that one episode. Tu banega Boyfriend 😭
Heer and Nawab should take a day off from College and focus on their SR
Are they studying in College? Not at all
They just show us Dance every second or third episodez. Then why don’t they fulfill their Pending SR. 😜i am just waiting…
Pammi 😡😡
TJJD sirf villians ke liye bna hai. 😡😡😡it’s not a romantique show anymore.
I am done with this Gareebi
Bechare bas paise ki kami me hi rehte hai. I can’t see helpless Nawab 😢🤧
TJJD makers can we go bit slow?
I’m really liking the episodes and I’m not complaining at all. I’m just a little confused about the pacing. How did Nawab get out of jail, then the college results came out, then there was the dance event, and Heer became a TA—all seemingly in one day? Also, why don’t they go home?
I’m genuinely trying to understand the timeline because it feels like a lot of events are being rushed together. No hate toward the episodes—I’m enjoying them and just wanted some clarity.
Ajj ka episode kisi ko smj aya?
Something was missing
How Gulab Brar Knows every single thing 🤔
Kaun hai ye
