Wow, 2 more sub plots that didn't make it in the anime

One of those was the story behind Hayato's purchase of a ¥100,000 animal caricature that also explains Apachai's origin story to Ryozanpaku (or as the manga now calls it "Ryozampaku", just like the Niishira Alliance is now the "Shimpaku Rengou"). I'll probably let it slide since Hayato ends up erasing Ken'ichi's memory to prevent him from snitching. But the other one is when his dad visits the dojo with a gun! Admittedly I kinda heard about this in the subreddit, but I thought it was later in the story. Turns out, the anime didn't feel like adding it in, and it was wild! Seeing his dad try to shoot everyone and I think he reloaded with one hand because his other one was holding his barely conscious son, which Shigure thought was impossible. But what got me was when he punched Sakaki in the face who just tanked it.

A few more things I noticed reading the manga

  1. this i should've said when I was watching the anime but Kensei 2 (Ragnarok Kensei not Ryozanpaku Kensei) was really lucky those crooked businessmen aimed for the center of mass when his back was turned. They could've easily shot him in the head and he and Tanimoto would've been screwed

  2. there's more content that wasn't in the anime?! Ken'ichi challenged a dojo. Namely the one a Shinpaku Alliance subordinate was attending to get stronger but for the wrong reasons. The sensei claimed to be a former Ryozanpaku member, but it turned out to be a lie and he was actually a fanboy of Sakaki who changed his ways when Ken'ichi and Sakaki beat up everyone in the dojo. Right afterwards, Ken'ichi was struggling to come up with a finishing move, so he asked the masters but theirs were too fatal. Even Akisame's which was apparently a fusion of a strike, throw, and joint lock which I didn't even really see. Maybe it was too fast to register? But anyways, what about the thing he did to Siegfried? The "Broken Rhythm" that was so intense, it feels like you see it 3 times? I'm about to say something that will probably get me down voted to oblivion: the pacing in the anime is not great. (cue pitchforks and torches) Hold on! I'm just saying at a certain point in the show, the first 5 minutes, not including the OP is just a recap of the previous episode. If they had all that dead air, why not fill it with stuff that was in the manga?

Heads up for anyone wanting to unlock every character in the game

The guides say to get Number 20, you have to beat Time Attack Mode as Loki in under 15 minutes, but what it doesn't tell you is you need to have already acquired Niijima as a playable character, and he needs you to have Odin in your roster, so there's a specific sequence in which you can get everyone. But what also bothers me a little is how to get every bio because I can't find anything online. I definitely wanna see what the game list their fighting styles. Ken'ichi's say Karate, Jiujitsu, Kung Fu, and Muay Thai (just like Sakaki, Akisame, Kensei, and Apachai), Shigure's is All Weapons with a preference to swords, and Hayato's when translating says "Own Way." But I do wanna see what Miu's is listed as.

So the anime added and subtracted?

I know I'm taking a really long time getting through the first Ken'ichi manga due to my lack of time management skills, but I spotted another difference. The anime removed the part where Ken'ichi had to beat a 12 year old while Hayato dressed up as an evil spirit, and made a filler episode where the principal visited the dojo, causing Sakaki and Shigure to pretend to be her parents? What? It was also in this episode that Kensei prematurely reveals he canonically has a daughter around Miu's age, but in the manga, Renka is introduced abruptly.

Random what if thoughts for a Ken'ichi game

If we had a Devil May Cry styled Ken'ichi game, he should have Dante's style changes and the parallels would go as followed: Trickster = Kung Fu, Swordmaster = Karate, Gunslinger = Jiujitsu, Royal Guard = Muay Thai. Unless there's a better combination. Against female opponents, he automatically switches to Jiujitsu and against female bosses, he's locked on it. And Miu could be a secondary playable character of course. Not many comparisons between her and Vergil, but her Furinji Style could be the Dark Slayer equivalent. And what about if it pulled a Kingdom Hearts and gave us its own version of the Data Organization XIII fights, instead it's the Ragnarok members? Or the Yomi...? I haven't gotten that far in the manga yet, so I'm not supposed to know this group exists, but if it's like the Ragnarok, it'd be a cool concept. As for the genders, I would think Ken'ichi would face the male members of the enemy groups and Miu, the female members
