Correcting the narrative on natural kratom! Atwood, IL Chief of Police.

On May 7th, I had a very productive conversation with the Chief of Police in Atwood, Illinois. This discussion was in response to his initial Facebook video, which did not clearly distinguish between natural plain leaf kratom and the highly addictive semi-synthetic 7OH. This is the outcome of that conversation.

The misinformation is appalling!

Misinformed city council members pass city ordinance introduced by Chief of Police Douglas Tatu to ban all kratom products. This is likely due to the prevalence of illegal 7OH products on the market, and NOT plain leaf kratom.

VOTE RESULTS:
PASSED 4-2

Paul Bastaich - Councilmember - YEA
John Lusk - Councilmember YEA
Greg Weiler - Councilmember YEA

This city ordinance effectively bans the sale of kratom within the city limits. At the time of this recording, this does not criminalize possession.
