Reprocess or Data correction for Section 154
ITR-2, AY25-26. Got 143(1) notice in June-26 demanding to pay ₹36,170. It's self-occupied and co-borrower with mother. Claimed ₹2L u/s 24(b), she claimed the remaining amount but CPC allowed only ₹1L.
Filed JSON has a mismatch: itemised 24(b) shows ₹1L but summary shows ₹2L. Already responded with “Disagree with demand.”
Q: Is reprocess useless here (itemised field has ₹1L)
or I to need to Return Data Correction with corrected JSON instead?
