I tutor for dyslexia, and I frequently need to say voiced and unvoiced phonemes in isolation. Voiced phonemes (like vowels) come through to my student fine. But if I need to say the sound of /k/, /s/, /sh/, /th/, etc., my student cannot hear anything. I tried testing it in Zoom with Test speaker and microphone, and verified that I cannot hear myself say these sounds either. It makes no difference if I select noise cancellation, original sound for musicians, or personalized. (But I can hear my students.) I use a Windows 11 laptop, and went to System > Sound, and there these sounds ARE picked up just fine. So it seems to be a problem with Zoom. Does anyone have any suggestions for me? Thanks.
