Painting of Victoria wearing the Koh-I-Noor diamond as a brooch, Winterhalter 1856

Personally, I feel it was in her paintings she was most flattering. In most of her paintings, she has had this royal essence about her, and her beauty is one of the most interesting things to me about her as a historian.

Painting of Victoria by Robert Thurborn, 1844

From the sources I could find, this painting was created in mourning for Albert’s father, Ernest I, Duke of Saxe-Coburg and Gotha, as he had died earlier that year.

Welcome to r/QueenVictoriaUK!

Hello, I am u/MRPRESIDENT3516, and I am the founder of r/QueenVictoriaUK!

I wanted to start off by saying why I made this subreddit. I was inspired by various one-monarch subs, such as r/EdwardII, and even one-president subs, such as r/James_Monroe! I realized one had not been created for Victoria, my absolute favorite monarch of all time, so I took the initiative! I am big into US history and Victorian era history as well, and so I made the sub! The sub can be for sharing art of Victoria, whether original or famous painting, discussion of Victoria, genealogical finds (such as you are related!) and even for discussion of Victoria and Albert’s love story, one of my favorite parts of her life! Anything related to Victoria, can probably be on here, just check the rules first! One of my favorite parts about Victoria is her beauty, and how captivating it was and still is, and how she influenced fashion so much!

Thats all from me! Enjoy some of my favorite portraits of Victoria :)

Favorite thing about Eclipsa?

The title. Also, this is the place to rave and rant about your appreciation for Eclipsa.

My favorite thing about Eclipsa is her kindness despite most people thinking she was an evil queen deposed for a reason. She also is witty and has a sense of humor that would seem rare in a royal, like how strict Moon was at the start of the show. The way she interacts with Marco and other is funny, and she can make you laugh if you want one. Eclipsa cared for people, including her monster husband, going against royal precedents for love. Like how powerful of a message is that? Anyway, she also was clearly sad when it was revealed the Butterfly line was frauded after Eclipsa, as she had grown with Star and loved her as well, showing compassion. Thoughts?

♠️ALSO SHE IS THE BEST QUEEN EVER♠️

How would Star’s life have gone had she not gone to Earth?

(i love the way she looks in this portrait, her cheeks are all big and prim lol)

I think personally Star would not have been as magically advanced as Baby said in the same named episode. Marco’s encouragement helped her a lot, and maybe the possible pressure from her parents if she’d stayed on Mewni would’ve slowed her down. Maybe Star would’ve never met Eclipsa if Moon had granted her freedom earlier, and would’ve never found out the truth about her family. Thoughts?

quick darcy draw to start my day

i was listening to “ruler of everything“ by tally hall this morning, and here’s some background. so basically a while back there was a meme that went with this song, usually connecting characters from different shows to the wildly specific lyrics in the song. i came across a couple ones with marcy/darcy, and so I also decided to draw her. here are some links to ones i saw.

In the time skip, Sasha is described as being a child psychologist/counselor. Do you think the job suits her? I think it’s a good job for her to have, especially with all the stuff she went through, she probably wants to give kids the counseling that she didn’t get to have after Amphibia. And follow up; what do you think future Sasha‘s personality/what she does for fun looks like? Peace!✌️
