Theory on Familiars and Headcannon on Frampton and Portia's relationship
My theory on Familiars is that they are actually skinwalkers but domesticated by witches. Both have the same abilities except familiars are more docile and don't feast on human hearts (could depend on the witch though).
Also, I have a headcannon on portia's relationship with Frampton. When Frampton ventured into the realm of the supernatural, he encountered portia (skinwalker who was turned for some war, timeline would make sense) and fell in love with her. However, he finds out that she is a skinwalker in one way or the other and him an amateur witch at that time, decides that turning her into a familiar is the best cure for her condition.
When I think about it that way, the relationship no longer becomes weird. The reason why witches having a sexual relationship with their family is looked down upon because witches made familars to be servants. In this case however, they were always lovers.

Luck of the Irish - Tyrconnell to Irish Great Republic
Did a run initially as Tyrconnell, forming ireland and blobbing the entire isles as them. Became a Republic and colonized a good chunk of north america (Canada and the 13 colonies). Also took over the congo region and south madagascar.
A Fun game, turning a small Irish OPM to a colonial juggernaut with the highest income in the world. Dealt with excessive loans, bankruptcy and high corruption - 32% at peak I think (due to debasing a lot for managing the loans) and being behind in technology as a result.
