Whats this neck made of?
My staff think this is Bubinga, what do you guys think. Its a solid neck so the fretboard is the same timber with a dark wax-oil finish It's hard and heavy-ish, no stain in the poly finish.

This piece is very heavy and hard. The figuring is more obvious irl.
We reclaim timber from architectural salvage in South Africa. This is reasonably heavy and hard.
More people need to know about this. A gaint chemical plant is quietly making its way through the official process. It will destroy the West Coast as we know it!
The endgrain and overall colour looks like Iroko, but it much heavier than I would expect for Iroko. Somebody had previously tried to split it, but their blade was obviously too small.
Anyone able to ID this? A little heavier than Mahogany, no smell when I planed it.
