Charging Practices

Charging cable double tied for space management; charge while I'm in the shower (2x daily). Never had to charge otherwise.

My old routine was to charge for a few hours on Sunday nights, but this has been more convenient.

Anyone else have any other efficient charging practices?

Air Users: Do You Miss the Screen?

I thought I would, but I really don't. I used to check my HR during workouts... but really it was just a distraction and unnecessary. The only funny thing I do now is lift up my left wrist to check the time on my Air a few times a day. Some days I'm worse than others.

Best Way to Connect Google Health and MyFitnessPal Apps on Android?

I have had them connected in the past, but with problems involving duplicate entries for food, and wild calories input for steps.

What is the best methodology to do it now? I'm in MyFitnessPal, which is already linked to Health Connect by Android. Also connect to Fitbit? There is no Google Health option at this time.

Love Baked Wings ("LBW") in Old Town 👍

Have been numerous times and enjoyed the visit each time. Staff is great, especially the very knowledgeable and personable manager, Mitch.

Above are the jerk chicken boneless wings (paired very well with blue cheese dressing) and the ranch slaw. I usually get the NcNashty rub on the wings and the kale salad.

The sauce game is strong here... they are definitely punching above their weight on the sauces, much like The Stand. The jerk chicken sauce is a particular standout, and next time I will likely order it as a dipping sauce along with the LBW Infamous flavor, which I haven't tried yet.

They are fantastic neighbors in the old Jake's spot... I go at least once a week due to the value proposition and, frankly, the sauces/flavors. In terms of value for food quality/quantity in Old Town, I would put them on par with Tacos Neza and Sincerely Syria.

Charge 6 to Air: Big RHR Jump

I received, and started using, my Air yesterday. My RHR jumped by 10 points yesterday, and nothing was out of the ordinary. Is this a sensor issue? I have had the app update since it initially rolled out. Anyone else experiencing this?

Nest Thermostat - Phone Location Errors (Long Term)

For years, across different devices, and different homes, I have received the following error:

>Nest noticed that your phone sometimes reports its location incorrectly. This could cause your nest products to briefly behave as if you're away, even when you're home. If you need to adjust your settings, go to Account Settings > Phone Location.

Is this a normal notification that I should live with, or is it fixable? This has happened for as long as I can remember across almost every generation of Nest thermostat, on various phones, and even in different homes.

I have run in background enabled along with all necessary location permissions and the allow phone location enabled in the app.

Nana's Green Tea (Old Town) Menu & Photos

I think this location has the potential to be a fantastic addition to the Old Town food community. But not right now, they are completely overwhelmed, so give them a few weeks before paying them a visit. Looking forward to my next visit to grab some Japanese fast food and sweets.

PROS:

  • 15% improvement in sensor accuracy.
  • Automatic activity logging.
  • Good looking (esp. the limited edition, even though it's $30 more).
  • [Minor] Charger does not have to be oriented one way or the other with the device when charging.

CONS:

  • No screen to check HR or steps.
  • Same battery life as Charge 6.
  • Less accurate sensor than Pixel Watch 4 per CNET: The Fitbit Air uses an older sensor setup than the current Pixel Watch 4, which includes a multipath optical heart rate sensor and a far-field temperature sensor. The Air sticks with more traditional sensors, which could limit accuracy, especially in peak heart rate zones and for more advanced insights, like menstrual cycle tracking."

Thoughts on whether this is worth the upgrade?

Hold out for a successor to the Charge 6 that has a screen?
