anyone in Alberta or elsewhere get insane car insurance quotes?

I bought a 2024 Lariat F150 new and changed providers because my long term broker couldn't do any better than $4000 a year. I looked online and found Scoop Insurance and got coverage for $2600. I ended up moving within Alberta during the policy which thanks to Alberta's new rules allowed them to increase my premium 20%.

I got quotes from other providers and heard back from three different brokers with quotes between $9000-12,000. I have 15 years now with no accidents, tickets or any other infractions.

How am I getting pricing that insane on the most common vehicle on the road even if it's a slightly higher trim? Also how is an online brokerage in Ontario able to give me the same coverage for 1/3 those quotes? Lastly, how the hell are other people able to afford to drive if they are getting those prices and not shopping around?
