I tried experimenting a bit and I‘m not happy how it turned out :( The background is done with gouache and acrylic markers and I have now idea how and what I should fix, I feel like it looks too messy compared to the mantis, but when it was „cleaner“ it looked even worse in my opinion😩
I tried practicing anatomy and different angles, but I just couldn’t get the head right, so I created this instead. 😭 I really like her, though, I just think it’s funny because this wasn’t intended at all.
Painted non stop for 10 days straight after a very long break, and this feels like a huge milestone for me! It's the first time in years that I can actually see and feel real progress in my art. I've been experimenting with combining alcohol markers and Polychromos for the first time, and I am genuinely so proud of how it turned out.
I dreamt of this thing last night. It appeared in the middle of the road, and suddenly the weather turned violent. Everyone ran, but I took shelter in a glass phone booth, somehow knowing it would keep me safe. It never moved or attacked anyone it just stood there, watching. Somehow, its presence alone caused all the chaos.
