Been lurking here for about two years and somehow have never made a post. Figured it was time to say hello.

Long-term f/t nomad, mechanic/carpenter, hiker trash, cyclist, and occasional river rat currently living out of an F150. Been traveling for years, chasing work, trails, rivers, and cooler weather whenever possible. Currently in PA section hiking with my brother while he thru hikes the A.T.

Lately I’ve been prepping for another big drive, North and West, trying to lose some weight from the rig (MPG isn’t great)

The problem is that after years on the road, every item has a reason for existing. Some of the collection has gotten a little ridiculous though.
IE; I’ve somehow ended up carrying a mini hacksaw, a regular hacksaw, a miter saw, a longboard handsaw, a corded circular saw, and now a DeWalt cordless circular saw. Apparently at some point saws became a philosophy or they were choosing me 🤔. (Let’s not talk about the 3x socket sets… and yes, I can currently supply a small town with 10mm.)

What’s the most ridiculous thing(s) you’ve kept in your kit longer than you should have?

Have been doing assist for my brother who currently NB on the AT (he’s normally in sticks n’ bricks)

F/T Mechanic/carpenter nomad (read profile) passing through Central PA (AT corridor). Don’t post often, but about to be making some big drives again (north and/or west) to get away from the heat and line up some work.

Downsizing surplus gear from a long-term road setup: duplicate tools, med supplies, hardware/fasteners, small lumber, and some backpacking/camp items etc. Well cared for; just extra load I don’t need to keep hauling.

Prefer to move this as a single lot or small batches. Looking for fuel and/ or good pipe tobacco.

Open to all reasonable offers and trades with other vagabonds, wheeled dwellers and nomads.
