I'm building my first SaaS in public. Let's see how this goes.

I've spent years building software for other people.

Now I'm trying to build something of my own, and I've decided to share the journey publicly for the first time.

The product is called Afterword. I'm building it to solve a problem I personally find interesting: turning the thoughts in your head into something worth sharing.

I've spent a lot of time writing code, tweaking things that probably don't matter yet, and figuring out what to do next.

The part nobody really prepares you for is that building the product is only one piece of the puzzle. Getting people to care about it is a completely different challenge.

I don't have a big audience, a marketing team, or a playbook to follow. I'm figuring this out as I go.

So I thought I'd start sharing what I'm building, what I'm learning, what goes wrong, and hopefully what works.

No big promises. Just building and learning in public.

If you've built a SaaS before, what's one thing you wish you'd known at the beginning?
