Ripple Launches RLUSD Stablecoin in Japan

Ripple has officially launched its RLUSD stablecoin in Japan following regulatory approval. The token is now available through SBI Holdings and SBI VC Trade for both institutional and retail users.

RLUSD is designed for payments, tokenization, and collateral use, helping businesses and users access global liquidity more efficiently.

The stablecoin is pegged 1:1 to the U.S. dollar and is backed by U.S. dollar deposits, short-term U.S. Treasuries, and cash equivalents. The launch also reflects Japan’s growing focus on building infrastructure for regulated stablecoins and digital payment solutions.
