We bought our house in January. I immediately got rid of the grass by covering with all the moving boxes and layered some leaves from the alley and topsoil/ compost. Added wild flower seeds, comfy, tons of clover seeds, sunflowers, phlox, a couple fruit trees, and even some peas, cantaloupe, watermelons that are just now sprouting. 100% chaos gardens, 0% lawn! The clover is coming in and slowly covering the ground. I did it over a few weeks as I had time and physical ability. But it’s so worth it! Never will we need a mower. Which is amazing and so satisfying as I watch our neighbors pull out their mowers every week. 6B
Definitely a need for an unemployed person to track his sleep and health with a smart watch. Would prefer a large screen one, will settle for any size. Really? Do people have no shame?
We bought this house about three months ago. I noticed that the neighbors tree is obviously rotted. It smells bad after rain like there’s water collecting in it. And there’s clearly fungus growing off of it. Then last night in the high wind tornado warning storm a giant branch flew off, thankfully into their yard and not my garage. With a couple smaller branches flying into my yard. I’m highly concerned that given it is only the start of tornado season that the rest of that tree is gonna come down onto my garage. We are our first time homeowners, and I come from Arizona, where there are no tall trees or tornadoes. So I have absolutely no idea how I’m supposed to move forward from here. Can anybody give me some recommendations?
Thank you 😊
Hey all! I’m from the desert and now live in the mid west. We have a 90 year old house with a cinderblock basement. The cinder block is currently painted white inside and out side with paint, not lime wash or anything. There are a few cracks that leak slightly, they have been patched previously by last owner. (Nothing crazy, by any means) when it rains heavily or heavy snow melt it leaks. Back home we use rubberized paint on roofs to reflect sun and water proof flat roofs. Would there be any negative effects of putting that paint on the outer walls to create more of a barrier against moisture? It seems to me like a cheap and reasonably effective way to address the minor water seepage issue without major masonry work.
We have 3d printers and I make soap in the basement so high humidity and water is not ideal.
Thoughts?
