Need help choosing: VÅGSTRANDA Firm, Extra Firm or ÅNNELAND Firm

I'm in Europe and about to buy a new IKEA mattress, but I can't decide between the VÅGSTRANDA Firm/Extra Firm and the ÅNNELAND Firm.

I went to IKEA and tried both VÅGSTRANDA Firm and Extra Firm, but honestly I couldn't really tell the difference.

For reference, I've been sleeping on a 90x200 VALEVÅG Extra Firm for about a year and I actually like it.

The new mattress will be 140x200 for two people, around 80 kg and 55 kg. I mostly sleep on my side and stomach.

For people who have used these:

  • Would you choose VÅGSTRANDA Firm, VÅGSTRANDA Extra Firm, or ÅNNELAND Firm?
  • Do you use VÅGSTRANDA with a topper or without?
  • Is ÅNNELAND Firm better for comfort, or does it get too warm/soft?

Would love to hear real long-term opinions. Thanks!

Chave Móvel Digital activation as a foreign resident – appointment or walk-in? (Cascais area)

Hi everyone,

I'm trying to activate my Chave Móvel Digital as a non-EU resident with a Portuguese residence permit, but I'm finding different information online and I'm a bit confused.

Has anyone done this recently?

I have a few questions:

  • Do I need to book an appointment through SIGA, or can I just walk into a Loja do Cidadão or Espaço Cidadão?
  • If an appointment is required, which service should I select in SIGA?
  • Is there a place in Cascais (or nearby) where you've done it successfully?
  • How long did the process take, and what documents did you need to bring?

The main reason I need CMD is to access Segurança Social, but I currently can't log in because of the authentication requirements.

I'd really appreciate hearing from anyone who has gone through this recently, as I keep finding conflicting information.

Thank you!

Family reunification court case stuck for months after judge ordered AIMA to be summoned – is this normal?

I am looking for advice from anyone who has gone through family reunification in Portugal.
I am an EU Blue Card holder and highly skilled worker. My residence permit has already been renewed, and my wife is still abroad.
I have been trying to bring my wife through family reunification for a long time. After getting nowhere with AIMA, I hired a lawyer from a large international law firm and we filed a court case.
The judge already ordered AIMA to be summoned, but for several months now the case has been waiting for the court to execute the summons and complete the procedural steps. My lawyer says there is nothing we can do and that we simply have to wait for the court administration to move the case forward.
Is this really true? Has anyone experienced a situation where the judge had already issued an order but the case remained stuck for months waiting for the court to execute it?
I am wondering whether there is anything that can be done to speed up the process, whether a lawyer can request urgency or follow up with the court, and whether anyone has successfully obtained a family reunification appointment through court proceedings.
To be honest, after years of separation from my wife and now months of waiting for court procedural steps, I feel exhausted and do not know what else I can do.
Any advice or similar experiences would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Family Reunification for Spouse Already in Portugal - EU Blue Card

Hi everyone,

I hold a renewed EU Blue Card in Portugal and I am trying to understand who can use the AIMA family reunification portal.

Has anyone successfully used the new AIMA family reunification portal for a spouse already in Portugal?
I’m trying to understand a relatively new option that appeared on the AIMA portal this year (I was told around April 2026).

I was previously informed that this procedure is intended for family members who are already present in Portuguese territory. However, I recently received different information suggesting that it may only be available for cases involving children/minors.

I have seen references to both:
-The family reunification procedure for minors.
-A newer portal/contact form for family members already in Portugal.

My question is:
Has anyone here successfully used this newer AIMA portal for a husband or wife (without children involved), where the spouse was already legally present in Portugal?

If so:
-Was the application accepted?
-What residence permit did the sponsor hold?
-Was the spouse on a tourist visa or another status when applying?
-Do you have any official information confirming whether spouses are eligible under this procedure?

I’m trying to understand whether the requirement is simply that the family member must already be in Portugal, or whether the procedure is currently limited to cases involving minors.

Any recent experiences would be greatly appreciated.
dren/minors under 18, or can it also be used for spouses and other family reunification categories?

Has anyone recently used the portal for a spouse or received clarification from AIMA on this point?
Thank you.
