Nick Drake and the fate of the Seer
Nick was an emissary from another world. He saw a place beyond this one; one in which competition, noise, mindless egocentrism is replaced by truth, vulnerability and unbound expression. Everyone who truly loves Nick's work sees this world too- it's just that his own dial was turned to maximum. He couldn't turn it down. It is a tragedy that his musical genius bloomed at a point of desolation rather than optimism. In a parallel timeline there is a Pink Moon in which his supernatural Seeing takes him to a place of love and not of sorrow. Bryter Layter is the closest remnant we have of such a world I suppose, even if it is not the "World Entire" of his last masterpiece. Thank you for everything Nick. I'm going to turn my dial down a notch or three because luckily I can ( and I'd like to live). God bless anyone who is quietly keeping Nick's flame alive. Don't give up on yourself.
