Anyone else getting this?

Has anyone else noticed tracks sometimes get a weird delayed amplification spike?

This track was growing slowly and steadily for days, then suddenly got a massive late push out of nowhere after mostly flattening.

What’s interesting is the engagement behavior changed too, not just raw plays.

Trying to figure out whether this is:

  • late algorithmic push
  • external shares finally propagating
  • replay velocity
  • geographic clustering
  • or something else entirely

Curious if other artists have seen similar delayed spikes?

How do you actually track whether a SoundCloud promo push worked?

For the artists here who are actively releasing music on SoundCloud, how are you tracking whether a promo push actually did anything?

I don’t mean just checking total plays. I mean things like:

Did this post actually move the track?
Did the link I shared turn into plays?
Is this song growing faster than the others?
Did a track spike because of something I did, or was it random?
Which track should I keep pushing this week?

SoundCloud gives some stats, but it can be hard to connect the dots between “I posted/shared/promoted this” and “this track actually moved.”

Do you all track this manually, use spreadsheets, just go by gut, or not worry about it much?

Curious how other artists are handling it.

Edit:
Just to be clear, I'm not necessarily talking about a promo push service. I'm talking about any sort of promo you do as an artist. How do you track the analytics of whether or not whatever method you're using was successful in getting movement on your track?
