Why did they have to put so much RNG in the Farmers Faire to the point of making it feel unfair?

I'm talking about deeds like Much Drinking, Much Running, Much Eating, Much Running, Fortunate Festival Fishes, all the collect X type of eggs and other quests like Fishy. Very Fishy.

I don't see why anyone would find them fun as they're all incredibly frustrating and tedious.

How am I supposed to win 16 races in a month when the chances of winning are completely at random? When those quests were repeatable every hour it was ok but turning them into dailies was just pure evil. There should be ways for us to influence the race or at the very least we should be able to retry until we win once each day.

How can they expect us to waste 80 minutes each day to find rare fish when they can very well never drop? I've been doing all four quests daily since August 13 and I have only found four.

How can I reasonably find all the various types of eggs when I'm constantly competing with many other players even in the middle of the night? There's also a good possibility that you'll never see a specific spawn ever.

Completing the quest Fishy. Very Fishy. should be a feat of strength of his own I could never in a million years come up with a design this bad, seasonal events should be all about fun and honestly this stuff is making me hate the game so much that I regret coming back to it.

Having to take multiple years to finish deeds is absolutely terrible, they should rework the cooldowns, increase the chances or run this event like 2-3 times per year, as it is now it's too unfair.

Sorry but I really needed to vent.

Why do I feel like I should skip most of the side quests while playing as a Sith?

As the title says, I've been dabbling on a Sith lately and I can't see any reason to even hear what some random peasant has to say let alone investing my time doing errands that are clearly beneath my station. Honestly I cannot even fathom why someone would even try to stop a Sith to ask them run-of-the-mill favors.

In my head a true Sith is only interested in gaining more power so everything that doesn't lead you to that should be ignored. I also think that monetary gain isn't something they would be interested in, of course credits can help them gain advantages but they're not mercenaries.

Obviously this only applies if you don't want to play it as LS but even then there are some missions that would be more suited to literally anyone else.

Do I have my headcanon wrong or did it happen to anyone else?

A couple more questions about the game

Hello everyone, I'll be brief.

  1. Is there a way to deposit and withdraw credits without owning a stronghold? I'm really not interested in them one bit but I'm starting to receive the warning message saying that I'm getting close to the 1M cap and I can't access the legacy bank from the terminals on the fleet. I'm pretty sure there isn't one but honestly I'm having a hard time believing that the devs made housing mandatory, can I at least disable the warning?
  2. Can I keep my progression on the weeklies for heroics and bonus series or will the wrap quest completely reset when the timer runs out? I just started a planet but there's no way I'll be able to progress through all the missions in two days so I'm debating if I should hold off until the next weekly reset.
  3. I'm starting to get weirded out by my character's clothes during cutscenes so I'd like to find an affordable outfit but all the coolest ones for Jedis are really expensive. Are there nice options I can find outside the GTN?
  4. Same thing as above but for mounts, the choices at the vendor are quite limited but I haven't found any other source to get one outside the GTN. Are there more available somewhere else?

Thanks.

Beginner questions about the game

Hello guys, as the title says I'm in need of some advice and I'd like your help.

  1. Is slicing the best crew skill for a F2P player with no alts? I think I only have one slot at the GTN and also a smaller cargo hold so I don't know if any of the other ones would actually be better for me.
  2. Where do I buy mounts in this game outside of the Cartel Market/GTN? I got a quest that sent me to the trainer where I unlocked the first pilot license but he didn't have anything else to sell.
  3. I'm not interested at all in PvP, GSF and Strongholds so can I safely ignore these aspects or will they influence the main story somehow? I'd prefer not to gimp myself.
  4. What are the best purchases and unlocks for a new player? I read that I'll be capped at 1M so I'd like to keep spending credits on useful things instead of just piling them up. I was thinking about inventory expansions for now but perhaps there are others "must have" I don't know about.
  5. Is there any downside in delaying the legacy naming? I have no ideas at the moment and since it will not be cheap to change it I'd like to keep it nameless until I find a good one. I checked and it seems that I keep getting XP normally but I'm not sure if I'll miss something else by doing so.

Thanks for your time.

Please help me find a satisfying way to complete the Lovers and Secrets mission on Tython

I don't want to spoil anything so if you're not familiar with the quest don't read any further.

I've been checking all the possible options on the conversation viewer but I can't find any way to complete this mission without acting like a hypocrite or flat out lying to a Jedi Master.

My problem is that I'd want to play as a pure LS Jedi but I also don't think that avoiding any kind of romance will be worth it as they add so much narrative and warmth to the story.

My view on love is akin to that of Jolee Bindo so I think that the order shouldn't forbid romance but instead teach emotional control over chaotic passion but I really don't want to start lying for any reason.

What can I do? My OCD prevents me from leaving this quest behind so I must come up with a "grey jedi" way to solve this conundrum.

Anyone got any idea? The simplest way to fix this would be to keep acting righteously and forget about romances but it feels like my experience will just get poorer for it.

Questions about the war-steed and Ale Association/Inn League reputation

Hello everyone, I need more assistance sorting out some questions I have.

First thing first, I recently unlocked the war-steed and I love it, I don't see myself going back to the regular 68% mounts (even if it's a bit too big and my character spreads his legs in a comical way when he's on it). Having said that:

  1. What's the best type of steed and bridle to use as a hunter? I don't use it to fight so I'm more interested in reaching the maximum speed and maneuverability. I read some old posts about the argument and it seems that the light war-steed with the light bridle would be the best choice but I'm not sure this still applies today.
  2. Is paying LP the only way to unlock the light/heavy war-steed? I know that there's a sale right now but it feels like the dumbest possible thing to put behind a paywall, also I'd like to keep my lotro points in multiples of 5 and not see XXX1 or XXX6.
  3. Do you know of any good-looking black cosmetics to use on it? Unfortunately the Marauder and the Ash Plains sets seem no longer available and I haven't found anything else.

And now about those reputations, keep in mind that I'd like to max them both:

  1. Is running the 22 delivery quests daily the most efficient way to reach kindred? I'm a bit scared because I'd need to run them like 15 times and they take a lot of time.
  2. Do you know of any good F2P guide showing the fastest possible route? I only found those including swift travels and I don't have it, I'm not 100% sure they're doable in 1 hour without it but as a Hunter I have all the travel skills unlocked.

Thanks!

Hard Tack Event: Cooking

Hello everyone, I'm trying to complete this event but I'm having some difficulties:

  1. I'm unable to cook and serve 20 dishes in 20 minutes and I can't find any guide or video that can help me. Anyone got some tips? There's always no one there so I can't count on assistants to distract the hobbits.
  2. Are the deeds Bean-spiller and Clod bugged? I failed to deliver my crafts to the tables multiple times but I only got the first one of the series.
  3. I learned the three recipes but only the brew shows as a complete product while the other two have the tag "unfinished" and aren't usable. Does anyone know why?
  4. What's the range of the hobbits? It seems really erratic, sometimes I run past them and nothing happens other times I walk around them and get robbed.

It seems like a fun event to do in a group but the devs should really rework it a bit or add like 5 more minutes because as it is now cooks can't really solo it unlike the other two roles.

Even more random questions about the game

Hey, it's me again with yet more questions, I hope someone can help me like the last time.

  1. What's the best way to farm enhancement runes outside of the reward track?
  2. How can I realistically get those tomes that permanently raise a certain stat? I never got a legendary giftbox or dropped one in all the months I've been playing and the prices at the AH are crazy.
  3. Why does my UI customization slightly change by itself? I've been precisely aligning some panels but when I log in again a couple of them slide a bit in a different direction, nothing major but it's annoying.
  4. Is it worth paying thrice as much to get the Enduring Univeral Toolkit instead of the normal one? Do these things ever go on sale?
  5. Is it worth paying 295 LP to buy the profession guild access as F2P? Does it ever go on sale? I really can't understand why the devs decided to block the progression for us.
  6. Is there any point in holding on to flavour items like the Erebrandir's Horseshoe, Ronald Dwale's Pipe, etc.? I never used them and they seem like a waste of space to me.
  7. Is spending 995 LP for the token the only way to change a character's name? It seems like the devs used to offer one for free during the transfer era via the command /changename [NewName] but now it just opens the store page. I highly doubt there will ever be a sale for it too.

Thanks as always.

About crafting professions and tracery rarities

Let's get down to business:

  1. What's the most efficient way to level up a crafting profession from scratch? Should I just craft random stuff and sell it to vendors?
  2. I'd like to collect all the recipes of the three crafts I have taken, is there a better resource than the Wiki Index to check what I'm missing?
  3. What should I do with Motes and Embers of Enchantment? I passively earned quite a lot of those but I can't figure out how best to spend them. I was thinking of doing the quest "From the Ashes Comes Virtue" for VXP but I'm not sure that's a good idea.
  4. A bit unrelated but is it worth to barter for legendary traceries mid game? Are incomparable ones the right compromise? I currently have all rare ones but I collected a lot of shattered/cracked tokens and I don't know if I should upgrade them or just wait for level 86 and replace everything with other rares (I'm already at the 10k cap).

Thanks.

Hello everyone, there are only a few this time.

  1. Do anniversary tokens expire like the steel tokens? I have a lot of them but nothing I'd like to spend them on so I was thinking of saving them for the next year.
  2. Do the war-stead replace the normal mount for general use? I'm debating if I should buy the Quintessential Ranger's Steed or the War-steed Cosmetics but I don't know which one I will end up using. Do people use them both?
  3. Anyone know of any good looking quiver or hooded cloak that can match the Quintessential Ranger's set? I'm having trouble finding a good skin or even the exact shade of green, the olive dye seems the closest one but since there's no preview I can only judge by the images I found on the Wiki.

Thanks.

Hello guys, I'll try to be brief:

  1. Do you feel like there are "must" items to barter for in this event? I have loads of anniversary and steel tokens but I don't particularly like any of the cosmetics also once you get your 68% speed mount I don't see why people would use those who runs at 62% or lower.
  2. What exactly are mount's caparisons, head-pieces and saddles? My current mounts don't have equipment slots so I'm not sure what these things are for.
  3. Is it normal to be constantly at 60/60 with Tokens of Heroism? After just a couple of skirmishes of my level I'm already at the cap and they reset once a week, it just feels wrong.
  4. Is constantly begging guild mates the only way to run older content? I put multiple entries for quests and dungeons and I haven't received a single tell in like two weeks (and I play a lot!). I even tried asking in world/LFF chats a couple of times but no one answered, how am I supposed to complete old dungeons and raids? I even chose the most populated server.
  5. Is there a way to show my health bar on top of my character's head like it is for enemies? I often die because I don't pay attention to it.
  6. Is there an updated gallery for armors and mounts? I only found a list of mounts on the Wiki but I haven't found the one I was looking for (big white stag, not the winter elk) so maybe it's not really that complete.
  7. How do I put my legendary sword as cosmetics for the off-hand? There's only the shield slot on that panel and it doesn't accept weapons.
  8. Is there any way to get the Windfells Goat without wasting 70 MC? I can't understand why they put a store mount in the Goat-herder deed and as a completionist not being able to complete it bugs me to no end.

I think it's enough thanks to anyone who can answer me.
