40-day update — 5.7 → 5.4 🙌

Just wanted to thank everyone in this group for sharing your experiences. I have learned a lot just by reading what worked (and didn’t work) for others.

I started around 5.7 HbA1c, and after ~40 days I’m at 5.4. A few things that really worked for me:

  • High fiber + good fats + protein — especially eggs and chicken
  • Almost no carbs for the first 15 days, then slowly introduced low/moderate carbs like brown rice and dal
  • Brown rice mainly at lunch and early dinner before 7 PM
  • ~2,000 steps after every meal
  • Whenever possible, added squats + calf raises after lunch/dinner
  • Completely cut sweets, soft drinks/cool drinks
  • 5 workouts/week + one easy 6 km run on the weekend
  • The biggest thing that worked for me was consistency — I stuck to it like my life depended on it.

My next goal is to get down to 5.2 and maintain it long-term, while still being able to enjoy a cheat day or two each month without worrying about losing all the progress.

In the process, I’ve lost about 3 kg, and my latest DEXA shows 15% body fat. So now the focus is less about losing weight and more about maintaining my weight, keeping the muscle, and improving my metabolic health.

Thanks again to everyone here. Reading your journeys genuinely helped me build my own routine.
