This is my first year and I'm really happy with how things have gone! The soil here in Grays Harbor can be pretty channeling to work with as well as the amount of rain and wind we have, but it's been super fun just throwing some seeds out and seeing what works. Very excited to see how the next few years of developing it goes.

Experience with kinnikinnick?

I have a few kinnikinnick plants and was wondering if I would be able to plant them in the open areas circled and train them down the side of this planter box for them to establish and spread in the garden ground underneath. 9A Grays Harbor, 8+ hours of sun

Holy huckleberries batman

Doing some clearing and realized beyond all the invasive Himalayan blackberry was a huge almost ten feet tall at times huckleberry bush (grove?) As soneone who will absolutely devour anything even remotely huckleberry flavored, this is Christmas in July

Washington natives for gravelly soil?

I'm hoping to find something that will grow in my very shallow Grays Harbor soil. I'll take literally anything to brighten up this patch, I can add soil and mulch and till it all up if needed but was hoping to find something that could do well on its own before I do.

Delphinium blew over

Windstorm blew over one of my delphinium stems before I staked them, should I cut it or should it grow back healthy if I just prop it up?

A little experiMINT

I have this 4 foot by 10 foot patch of salty beach sand on my property, I've heard so many stories of mint unionizing and taking over entire sections of the world in this group that I wanted to give it a true stress test. I bought one singular pineapple mint plant and put the planter in the ground from the store just to have a little fun and see just how unstoppable it can be.

Located in Grays Harbor Washington about half a mile east of the ocean. Will be posting updates until I inevitably horribly regret this decision and then start posting updates on my lifelong battle with tearing it out.
