(Here me out on this idea) I find it strange that despite there being several smart characters throughout the movie franchise and Noah being a horror fanatic in the tv series, they never actually figured out who is Ghostface or Brandon James is before the reveal. Sure Mindy figures out who it is by the very end, but by then we already know who the killers are at the end.
I know it sounds kind of lame and it defeats the point of a murder mystery story, but here’s my pitch on how it could work.
Someone dies as always in the opening scene, and over the course of the runtime little hints are dropped to who it is and then midway through one of the characters puts it all together and it actually is them and so our main characters go after them. BUT they disappear and our characters realize that their suspect is missing, so they have to go hunt them down all the while more people die. It culminates in one big fight and (as always) our main characters come out on top but not without battle scars and casualties. If there’s a second killer that could be the other mystery and could keep things interesting.
