Another brand new ring came in, this time, based on the ring worn by none other than Simon Baz.
Specifically based on the art by artist Ivan Reis, and Joe Prado.
This ring is probably the most casual one yet, as with just a spin around, it can appear as just a normal green ring. It's lightweight, and it's comfortable to wear with how low-key it is. Glows fantastically as always, too. And the three bar design down the middle is nice to run your fingers across. I very much liked how Simon's ring is different from the other GLs, this being based on a band ring instead of a signet ring.

The price dropped from $34 to $28, but it still isn't back in stock.
So mine arrived in the mail today, and I assume a lot of people who got an order in the first wave of purchases did as well.
This ring, compared to the Guy ring, is really well made in terms of representing the on screen prop of Hal/John's ring. Is it 1:1? No, but it's definitely close enough for merchandise. You can definitely get way more detailed replicas elsewhere, but this is great if you're on a budget. The band is very comfortable, has a smooth finish on the inside and an aged craggly texture on the outside. Not sure if the band is using it's bare metal, or if it's plated/coated to achieve that gray color. Next is the face.
The face DOES have actual 3D texturing, albeit behind a clear enamel to keep it from getting damaged. So there is a marbling "gemlike" texture there that reflects light and there is a "fresnel lens" present, you just can't necessarily feel them. It seems the clear enamel protective coating on the face is a bit inconsistent, as one bar and the circular part of the face have the clear coating flush with the gold trim, while the other bar swoops in creating a valley. Not a huge issue, but it's something to make note of. Probably a quirk of the specific one I got and may not be present on yours. The "gold" trim is VERY reflective, though seems to be very prone to scratching. I noticed it already has scratches on the side, wether that be from manufacturing, or shipping, or simply taking it out of the box. I would've preferred if the "gold" was less reflective and more of a matte or metallic finish similar to the band. It would fall closer to it's intended aged appearance, and risk less scratching. Another small nitpick is I wish they made the green parts glow on this ring. Salesone clearly used the same base ring as the freebie SDCC ring that had a glow enamel fill, so it's disappointing they didn't make this one both able to glow and have higher detail like it does.
As another poster had said, yes, the ring sits a bit tall out of the finger. Definitely juts out more than the Guy ring, and WAY more than the Salesone comic style rings. It also does feel a tiny bit face heavy, so it may swing and swivel around, until your finger builds up enough moisture to keep it in place. I will say though that the sizing is fairly accurate to standard ring sizes. I would not classify this ring as a wide band, since it tapers so much to the back. No need to size up.
So is the ring perfect? No. Is it worth $70? Kind of. Is it worth the supposed $34 it'll drop to? Yeah definitely. Do I like it for what it is? Yeah, I think it's pretty nice.

Here we have another replica ring, this based off your basic Green Lantern ring, notably the design worn by Hal Jordan. It's made from titanium, a brushed finish with anodized green coating, and a green glow inlay. Nice and lightweight too. Came out absolutely beautifully by the great u/GrimalkinLegionnaire. The pictures speak for themselves.

I think I have enough of these to recreate the Emerald Twilight cover.
A brand new ring arrived today, based on Kyle Rayner's honor guard ring. This ring was envisioned as an "upgraded" version of the old DC Direct Kyle Rayner replica ring. It has a glow resin filled resin "windowed" face set into a stainless steel band, with a fire opal cabochon that shimmers! The last three images show the opal and it's different colors within. The glow is absolutely insane on this one. And the tapered band allows it to fit really well, and it's practically weightless. I loved the DC Direct recreation I had, and this feels like a super powered ultimate version. It hits the perfect balance between a comic style ring and a movie/TV style ring. Fantastic work as always from u/GrimalkinLegionnaire!

Looking at the Lanterns merch for SDCC, it looks like the Lantern itself has a hole for the ring. My first thought was that the GL would press his ring into that slot to charge the ring. But it also made me wonder if the ring itself was designed to be the "lens" of the Lantern itself, and slot in band-ways first somehow with the face showing outward. Maybe the Lantern itself is used as a super powerful weapon when combined, similar to how it's been used for energy blasts or trapping beings in the comics? I'm leaning towards there being something significant about this Lantern and ring pair, because of the material and designs used being so unique compared to Guy's. (And it using a brass metal) It must do something other GL rings don't.
Another ring arrived in the mail today!
This one's similar to the previous "big face" ring, just a bit smaller and with a different symbol. The inspiration for this one was primarily the art of Alex Ross in Justice, as well as a few designs from the bronze age of Green Lantern comics. Made from stainless steel, and inlaid with glow material. Very comfortable once again, and it does have some weight to it, but not enough to bother yourself wearing it. Glows like the dickens! Since we're now nearing the start of July, when do you guys think we'll start seeing DC start going full send with the advertising for Lanterns? We technically still haven't gotten an actual trailer for the series yet (both videos released so far have been teasers). On top of that, merch usually drops before debut as another avenue for advertising right, so when would that start?

Another ring I received in the mail today, this one is real nice one. It's made from stainless steel, has a large face, and it's got a glow inlay as well. Fits true to size, and is real comfortable to wear! It glows pretty bright too. It also has an extremely flush smooth face, like, you can't feel any kind of disconnect between the metal and the glow material, like it's one smooth flat continuous surface. That was very unexpected to me. Some negatives though, the symbol is off center and the green pigment seems to not be uniform; one half of the green is darker than the other.
This ring is from Uniqueringsandthings. It came in a nice package that had the GL symbol on it, and inside was nice padding for the ring, and also a mini UV keychain light for charging it!
Despite it's flaws, I'm actually really happy with it. Once again, a fine addition to my collection. And as always, more to come.
A ring care package came in the mail today! All of these are beautifully created by u/GrimalkinLegionnaire.
First ring in the batch is based on the ring that Hal Jordan forges himself from his own willpower. Specifically based on the cover art where Kyle is reaching for it floating in space. Notable for its absent material in the negative space around the symbol, so you can see your finger underneath. Inlaid with glow material so the symbol glows! The ring has a brushed stainless steel finish, and it fits very nicely.
Second ring of the batch is based on a someone's personal ring I saw for sale on eBay, but with the bezel thinned and symbol changed. I absolutely loved how big the face was, it's about an inch across in diameter. It is very prominent on the hand, not just from the large face, but also it's intense glow. The symbol I chose is also a throwback to the symbol I chose for my very first custom made ring. I actually don't know where the symbol originated from, but I've seen it on shirts. It's similar to the modern angled symbol, but the bars and circle are much thicker than usual. Made from polished stainless steel, inlaid with glow material.
The third and final ring of the batch is based on the "chunky" ring commonly seen in the comics from the 70s and 80s, worn by various GLs, but notably worn by Guy and John. Joe Staton's designs were used as reference. I actually had posted a plastic and painted version of this ring before! You'd think it would feel heavy, but it really isn't. It fits perfectly just like the others. This one doesn't glow, but a Green Fire Opal is set in the face, which ripples with color depending on the angle and light. The ring is made from brush stainless steel once again.
I'm very happy with how all of these came out, and once again, expect more in the future!
Ordered this one from Hot Topic. It's a much more dainty, thin band ring than their usual offerings. They used to sell much larger more traditional styled GL rings before, but the only versions of that they still have are the Black Lantern rings. It's got some kind of (probably faux) green gem set behind the symbol, does not glow, and in most light looks pretty dark. I can't tell what metal it's made out of. It's alright in comfort, pretty light because of how thin it is. Only comes in a size 7. I usually take a size 8 or 9 for regular width to wide bands, but this one fit me, though a little tight. At full price of $15 (shipping not included), I don't think it would be worth it, but they usually hold sales or give out coupons. It's alright.

This one is made by bkey. Based on the ring design worn by multiple Green Lanterns in the 70s and 80s. I had actually requested this design, and now it's offered as part of their catalog. I absolutely love the shape, I think it captures the design from the comics perfectly.
It's printed out of plastic and then painted green. Visually and fit wise, it's great! Though, considering it's painted, I would say it's best for cosplay or display and not every day wear. Though I suppose you could wear it every day since it's easily replaceable.

I decided to put all my glow in the dark GL rings I've collected over the couple years on my messy desk next to my makeshift power battery. (The non glowing ones are in a ring box off camera)
The rings pictured are from multiple artists, and they vary in glow intensity and longevity, as well as their material. Personally, I like when my ring can be used as a flashlight!
