Petition to make the ADA recognize service cats.

Petition to make the ADA recognize service cats.

This person's friend absolutely can not live without their totally legit trained service cat that has the vital tasks of "alerting to symptoms" and providing comfort.

Wants to donate unadoptable, destructive dog to SD program

Abandoned adult shepherd mix that was heart worm positive and is now so "high energy" and destructive that she's unfit to be adopted. Perfect solution: make her a SD!

Currently working a 14 year old dog, wants to train new rescue "jump to alert."

So many unethical things in one short post. Current SD is still "working" at 14. Puppy already alerting even though it isn't trained. The famous "jumps to alert." Questionable rescue mix, of course.

In bed 95% of the time; wants a SD anyway.

Already owns a reactive dog that their family has to take care of, had to rehome other pets, uses a wheelchair and in bed 95% of the day, but still needs to conserve more energy. Obviously this person is totally capable of caring for a SD.

I don't know if I'm having symptoms, but I want an alert dog anyway.

Doesn't know what they are having symptoms of but wants a dog to magically alert them. Doesn't have heart rate spikes but wants dog to alert to heart rate. Claims they are working with a "program."

Bragging about taking 4 month old rescue mix to non pet friendly store.

Judging another fake SD while taking her 4 month old puppy to a department store. Classic.

Doctor says they're not disabled, but wants dog for head protection during "seizures".

Doctor told them they were not disabled; doesn't believe they have "tonic clinic" seizures 4 times a day even though they have videos. Uses a wheelchair that was not prescribed. Wants to bang their head on a poor dog while having "seizures." Bonus insane rant they went on when the SD sub said a dog was a bad idea. Tiny technicolor dog's insane task list.

Stop staring at my accessory totally legit Service Dog. 23 tasks and counting; dog is too small for some, others aren't real tasks. And thank God doggo was able to save handler from the deadly heart rate of 111 with it's DPT.

Seemed like a boring question, until... 3 "SDs" for 2 people!

Wife has 2 totally necessary "SDs." OOP claims a SD but no one will write them a letter. They got a 4th puppy just because. Now they need to scam their landlord to get around the 3 pet rule. Chances that any of these 4 dogs is actually a SD = 0%.

"SDIT" shit all over Walmart and handler made employee clean it up.

Dog was acting off, but OOP made them go to Walmart anyways, then let it shit all over the store then ran out in a panic leaving the Walmart employees to clean up the shitstorm while their husband stood and watched. Biggest worry is that the Walmart employees seemed "annoyed" and that their fake SD won't be allowed in Walmart next time. OOP lets dog drink from hot steaming mud puddles and run around in 100 degree weather before "working" but has no idea how this could have been prevented.

And then everyone stood up and clapped...

This one's got it all: A completely ridiculous, made up story, a clearly unethical task: body blocking while barking, but don't worry he doesn't attack anyone, and a dog that absolutely is not fit to be working: that poor white dude on the left needed to be retired 10 years ago. And for the faker in the back: No, your SD is not considered medical equipment.

This one hits the shouldn't get a SD jackpot!

Just another teenager with multiple mental health issues that wants a dog for attention. Oh, sorry wants a rescue dog that can detect heart rate and migraines to help with their self diagnosed POTS. Already owns a poorly trained dog. Let's see; the orthostatic hypotension, also self diagnosed, would rule out POTS, and heart rate and migraine detection aren't real tasks. So, nope wouldn't benefit from a SD.

Husband & I need untrained, anxious dogs to fly with us.

OOP wants to take not one, but two completely untrained, anxious in new environments, dogs with them on a flight for "medication reminders." Yes, other people will think they are fakes, because they are. How about OOP reminds her completely helpless husband to take his pills when the alarm goes off.

Pomeranian starts alerting to family members 3 days after being rescued.

Alerting to mystery disability after 3 days; fully trained SD in 6 months. Sure, why not. Stay tuned to the "rare breed SD" thread for more gems like this.

4 year old SDIT can't do PA because of "fear stage."

Sorry at 4 years old, it's not a fear stage. Time to stop pretending it's a SD. Also, mobility and heart rate alert, of course.

Wants dog to read their mind.

Already owns a reactive dog, parents said no, therapist won't write a letter, but wants a psychic mini poodle that can read their mind and alert them when they are thinking of a "traumatic" memory.

u/MathCivil7979 — 24 days ago

Stupid roommate "forgot" my 2 poorly trained mutts were "Service Dogs."

Maybe roomie "forgot" they are service dogs because they aren't; just a thought. I don't think the issue here is that they weren't "labeled."
