Yes, I have been waiting, too. Way too long.

In the end, most Proton services are quite disappointing (except Mail, Pass, VPN). Self-hosting seemed so difficult and time-consuming, but actually it only took a day or two of work, and occasional maintenance work. No more worrying about e2ee, as all data is at home. I use a 10y old laptop as server and it works very well.

As of now, a Linux client seems on the way, but it may take another couple years to have feature parity with other providers. Waiting is not worth it.
