2nd failure, so demotivated

Posted a few days ago that I felt air through the surgery hole after the FLAP. And when I finally had some bowel movements on day 5-6, so much poop came out of the surgery opening. So, safe to say, it's a failure. I called the doc for more antibiotics, and I'll go in in a couple of days to assess.

This is my second FLAP, and last time it failed at week 3, but I am shocked this time it failed around day 4, even before any bowel movements. I was just gassy. I don't think I'll do this surgery again because it feels like the conditions need to be perfect for it to heal. I'll get in a seton again and I guess wait it out and accept this is my life.

I'm so drained, it's been 1.5 years with no end in sight :(

Second FLAP surgery; worried already

Just had my second FLAP last week (after having a seton, failed FLAP, and a second seton) and damn the recovery this time has been so much worse so far. The doctor left me with a way bigger hole (much more painful), and I'm so gassy that I can sometimes feel air escape through the open hole. Last time, I knew the surgery had failed about 3-4 weeks in, when I could feel lots of air go through, which then turned into other leaks, and then it was confirmed at the doctor.

I've been crying and so demotivated the past couple of days, plus I'm so uncomfortable being so bloated (yes I'm taking the prescribed light laxatives and metamucil and it is still a problem). I hope the surgery hasn't failed after 4-5 days, I have even barely had a proper bowel movement. This surgery is so delicate, I'm not sure I'll do it again for a while if it fails. The Seton was ok enough, and in general I suffer from constipation etc, so it feels like this is impossible to heal 😭
