New content on the Handelabra spirit island app! Today we got Breath of Darkness, Tangles Green, Stranded Shroud, and Encircle Fangs

Video guide series on how to tackle Russia, starting at level 1 and going all the way up to level 6, using a different low complexity spirit each time. There's also two bonus games at the end showing medium complexity spirits that go a bit of a different path to beating Russia. I tried to walk through what changes at each level, and how you need to adjust your tactics to handle it. Hope it's helpful for folks!

HME is the newest adversary and arguably the most complicated -- it gives lots of people problems and can feel hopeless when it spirals out of control. I wanted to create a guide covering each level in detail with tips and tricks for how to beat it. Each part uses a different low complexity spirit to show you how to stay ahead of the dreaded Habsburgs. I hope you find it useful!

In light of The News About The Future Of Spirit Island, I wanted to revisit some of my favorite art designs from the game, because I really do think that the art integrates really well with the mechanical and thematic parts of the game.

Do you have a favorite spirit art?

My YouTube channel has a series of videos trying out non-traditional builds, this week I’m looking into whether bottom track DUE can hang. Normally, people prioritize top track because it gets you the same amount of card plays up until turn 5, plus a ton more energy and more flexible presence movement. But I wanted to see if I could use the bottom track’s Dahan movement and better access to the defend innate to stabilize before a big quake.

Very excited about the launch of new content on the Handelabra app: Dances Up Earthquakes, Deeps Ocean, Locus Serpent, and Habsburg Mining! This game is DUE going top track to impend as many majors as possible and get good value from mana cheating. Starting T2, I grabbed a major basically every single turn and usually impended whatever my most expensive card was. Lots of raw power, but with the tradeoff of tougher targeting and planning.

What part of the new Handelabra content are you most excited for?

Turn 1 grabbed the extra card play for Starlight, to allow it to hit tier 2 of the moon innate, gathering three explorers (fast thanks to SBWW) and stopping three builds. Then used Starlight’s boon on SBWW twice in a row to feed it more cards, making use of Gather as Starlight’s primary reclaim tool. A very unusual Starlight build that’s useful when supporting spirits who really want more cards in their hand.

Inspired by a discord user who adds a randomly selected challenge to each game for variety, Ryan Lackie and I spun a wheel to determine what twist we’d take on. It landed on Mandatory Support: each spirit must play a support card every turn.

We faced England 6 with Sun-Bright Whirlwind and Green. Whirlwind often struggles into England 6 due to its low fear and small damage pings, but it can do some crazy things when it’s getting 4x Gift of Proliferation.

Like many players, I almost exclusively use Many Minds’ second growth option to place two presence. But G3 has its upsides: the extra beast placement and movement helps when you have multiple abilities that require beasts in different lands. I wanted to see how a build that exclusively used G3 for the first few turns would go!
